Started pullets, young hens, ducks, juvenile guinea, and quail available!
Open Sunday August 16 3pm-5pm.
No reservations or pre-sales for breed variety started pullets. No appointment needed to shop during our open hours, To schedule an appointment for a day we aren't open, please wait until the morning you would like to come to text 724-664-7403.
For transport of started pullets and ducks, if you could bring a chicken crate, dog crate, pet carrier (cat carriers easily fit at least 2 started pullets), or large cardboard box (with large air holes), that would be great. If not, we have chicken crates for sale, new-in-box dog crates for sale, and some boxes here. Please have your crates and boxes ready before you get to the pickup location, including the air-holes.
For the quail and guinea we will provide boxes.

If you choose to come early on an open day (shouldn't be necessary), please note that your vehicle will be your place in line. If you are first, please start the line near the bend (across from the feed shed is perfect). Keep to the right of the driveway to ensure there is room for our farm workers to get past and don't block driveways. Please remain in your vehicle until you get to the purchase location. We do not have public restrooms. If there is a line, we will stay open until everyone is waited on.
Please be kind and patient, and help us keep the line moving as quickly as possible by knowing how many and what breeds you prefer and what you would like instead if your first choice(s) are sold out before you get to us. There will be more birds and more breeds coming each month, please look for monthly updates to our pinned post.
We will be unable to answer calls or messages while we are open as our priority will be ensuring the customer in front of us gets the best service possible.
All of our available started pullets are ready to mix together. To mix birds with an existing flock, we recommend waiting until night, and adding the new birds while the old ones are asleep. Check on them again in the morning. Some bickering is normal as they establish a new pecking order. As long as they don't draw blood, or prevent anyone from eating or drinking, just let them work it out.
Sorry, no checks. We prefer cash, but can do PayPal or credit card if needed. If paypal, please add 3% to your bill to cover the fee for business transactions if you pay using "goods and sevices". Our PayPal is [email protected]. Credit card transactions will automatically add 3% for fees, these are applied by the company that provides us with the reader and the ability to accept cards.
Feed ($12 for 25lb, $20 for 50lb), shavings ($9/ bale), used chicken crates ($50 each - holds approximately 16 started pullets), and new in box dog crates ($20 each - holds approximately 6 started pullets)) will be available for purchase along with the birds.
We aim to sell healthy, active birds. Unfortunately, once birds leave our farm, their care is out of our control.
For biosecurity reasons, we ask that you not handle the birds that are for sale. We're happy to hold them for you to look over.

ROOSTER BACK GUARANTEE!!
Did you know?? Freehling Farms is one of the few places to offer a rooster-back guarantee. If you purchase sexed birds off us, and one winds up an accidental rooster, you can bring him back WITH YOUR RECEIPT for a refund or exchange.
Or, if you purchase straight run chicks, purchase chicks elsewhere, or lose your receipt, you can bring them to our rooster Roundup events. We don't have our next one scheduled yet, but will post and create an event about it as soon as we do!
