This one hurts 😭

I’ve always loved Dolly Parton, and not just because she’s Dolly.

Yes, she’s sparkly, over the top and completely herself, but that’s not the part I think women and girls should look up to most

It’s her heart

She came from nothing, worked her butt off, built an incredible life and then actually used her money and success to help people. Kids, families, education, communities. She puts it back where it matters, not in her own pocket.

That’s the kind of woman I want girls looking up to.

Dream big. Work hard. Make the money. Wear the rhinestones if you want to. Be exactly who you are.

But don’t ever think your looks are the most important thing you have to offer.

Be kind, help people, give back, and if you’re lucky enough to build something great, use some of it to make life a little better for somebody else.

That’s what makes someone really shine.

And I think Dolly is a pretty damn good example of that. 💗

Are you looking for a space for your kiddo who needs something a little different?

Not sure you’re ready to commit to a full program? $25 paid trial visits are available Glitter Hooves and Fairytails

When I was signing my own daughter up for gymnastics, I remember wanting her to try it first and see if it actually felt like a good fit. I know a lot of parents feel the same way.

Gentle Hooves is a relaxed, small-group farm program with animals, sensory play, creativity and nature. (Ages 2-11)

Teen Reset gives tweens and teens a low-pressure place to unplug, spend time with the animals, create and connect. Ages (12-18)

Our programs are especially neurodivergent-friendly and trauma-informed, with activities offered, never forced. We’re also a great fit for homeschool groups, meetups and field trips looking for something a little different. We proudly work with Children with communication differences, children who use alternative or augmentative communication and children with limited spoken language.

Both groups are set to begin Sunday, but I know back-to-school timing, sports, therapies and work schedules can make one set day tough. I’m open to hearing what days and times work best for families and groups.

Big news for Glitter Hooves & Fairy Tails — we’ll be at the CHILL ACT Expo in Durham!

I’m really excited for the chance to share what we’re building here at the farm and connect with families, providers, educators and other organizations who care about creating spaces where kids can feel safe, supported and completely themselves.

I’ll be sharing more about Gentle Hooves, Teen Reset, our 1:1 Farm Connection visits, and what’s coming next with Fostering Hope and Peer Pathways.

If you’re attending, please come find the Glitter Hooves booth and say hi. I’d genuinely love to meet you, hear about the work you’re doing, and make some new connections.

This little farm has grown from a simple idea into something I’m really proud of — and getting to bring it into spaces like this feels pretty special.

We’re getting ready for our Splash Into School Bash and I’d love some help filling our Back to School Drive bins before the event!

If you’re out shopping and can grab an extra backpack, notebook, pencils, crayons, markers, glue sticks, headphones or any other new school supplies, we would be so grateful.

Even one or two extra items helps. Everything donated will go right back to local kiddos heading into the new school year.

You can bring donations with you to the Splash Bash or message me ahead of time for drop-off info.

Thank y’all for helping us make this more than just a fun day — I really want these kids to leave feeling supported and ready for school too. ❤️
