And with that, our 2026 kidding season has come to an end. How this year went:
14 babies
2 stillborn
2 not fully developed
1 lost 3 days later
9 babies bouncing and causing chaos
Of the 9 babies 5 are bucklings (4 are Sable bucklings)
This was one of the hardest years we have had. The babies were weighing in from 6.8 pounds up to 11.2 pounds! We have had, at this time, only 1 doe who has not needed veterinary intervention followed by antibiotics. Lots of learning done this year and greatful for a good friend (Rebecca Moore) willing to come and help. We are definitely thankful and blessed. Pictures to come once a semblance of sanity returns.
