Good morning! I hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day Weekend! It was a busy but good weekend for us! The Michael's pop up Vendor Event on Saturday was great. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting some of you and look forward to seeing your bloom pics as dahlias bloom across the basin this year. I shared a booth with Tiffany from Star Mountain Gardens. Please reach out to her if you're looking for vegetable or flower plugs. She has many starts and they look amazing!
My Mother's Day presents were the best! My husband tilled and amended a row with compost! I get to start planting dahlias in today! 6 weeks earlier than I got to plant out last year but it's already getting so warm out that I need to get the dahlias in the ground before temps get much hotter during the day. I'll cover the dahlias on any nights where it drops below 40 degrees if they're showing sprouts above the soil level.) MoleMax was the other great Mother's Day gift. I broadcast that all around the first row and watered it in. The voles had waaaay to many tuber snacks last year. I'm hopeful that this year will be better but I always take back up cuttings for insurance of many of the varieties so I don't loose them.
Feel free to reach out anytime to chat dahlias! I've got lots of tubers still available for sale and will be adding more to what's available over this week.
