We had a lot of help in the extracting room today. The girls came and took over for the amigos today, just for a little while! They did a great job. Zena got stung. Nola took control of the forklift. Kate was boss on the foot pedal as well as making sure to test every frame after they popped up.
There were tears and some fighting but they did great! Maybe there is a future bee wrangler in the bunch??? They came, they saw, they kicked some wax! It was fun. Followed up by taking some pot shots with grandpa dudes old 22 in the gravel pit.

Sign it 🍯 If you support the American beekeeper and want our government to do more about preventing fake foreign honey from crowding the shelves and pushing out the real stuff, please read, sign, and then share. We need as many signatures on this letter as we can get.

American beekeepers are facing an unfair challenge.

Honey consumption in the U.S. is at an all-time high, yet American beekeepers now supply just 17% of the market, down from 80% forty years ago.

Adulterated imported honey is one of the reasons. It undercuts American beekeepers and erodes consumer confidence in what’s really in the jar.

Today, I’m asking our beekeeping community to stand together by signing a letter supporting stronger standards for honey.

Kate’s name was drawn in a raffle and she won the grand prize- this golf cart!

Our driveway is getting a workout and I’m having visions of my future of crazy teen drivers. But golly- it’s fun!!

I must add: they have turned out farm into a city where each building has a purpose. They take their kids (aka 15 stuffed animals/dolls) to daycare, pets to the vet (their pet chores), they each go to work (honey and candle making), and some kids go to school. They have even sidewalk chalked highway lines. Literally endless hours of play in their magical made up world.

Oh and Nola, “Mom! I can run 13 mph. Zena clocked me on the golf cart.” 😆
