This adorable young buck (9/10wks old) is available for as a companion/pet! He is an Angora x Holland lop.
He's so sweet, he's been handled lots and during the AFW swap meet was held by numerous children all day!
He's not quite sure if he wants his ears to lay down, or stand up or just straight out 😅 he is not fuzzy so easy coat maintenance.

Angora rabbit sisters Libby and Debby always co-parent even if only one has a litter... Which is very special because rabbit does are usually very territorial and many can't live together let alone co-parent!

Libby is even more special because she'll take on extra kits, and when one of my first time mom Rex does (Zoe) couldn't figure out how to be a good mom Libby got 6 extra kits added to her nesting box for a total of 15 kits!! While we made sure that all the kits had full bellies Libby made sure all those babies survived!

Here is Libby and her Rex kit foster child 🥰🤣 ft Debby's butt that needs her fur brushed more. And a FULL nesting box when they were a few days old.

For those that don't know... During breeding season aka rut ... Intact male goats (Bucks) will urinate all over themselves, their beards/faces and each other and boy does it stink!! They do this to signal and attract female goats (Does).

0/10 do not recommend 🤢
Unless you have really good fencing, lots of space, a special pair over coveralls just for the buck pen, and a second washer and dryer to wash those coveralls 🤣 just pay for a stud service from someone who does have bucks.

Farm update!

Made some changes this spring/summer, we sold our chickens/turkeys for now and most of our goat herd.
We are just down to two goat bucks and our rabbits.
This was a tough decision but after the nasty wind storm we had over winter, it was in everyone's best interest if we recovered and focused our efforts on building and restarting slowly again in the future.

Here's a cute picture of one of the most adorable rabbit babies... 10/10 highly recommend viewing rabbit kits all summer.

I broke my own rule of no chickens in the house....

I don't usually name my chickens because as soon as you do something goes wrong. Well you guessed it, I named her...
This is Gloria my big Cochin momma and she got her comb torn open and had b!00d covering her whole head and in the freezing temps we were having she would have perished. So inside she went to get cleaned up and warmed up and some tasty sardines to help her iron levels.
If temps can stay up she will go back out to the flock for reintroduction.... Or maybe she'll have to wait inside until spring while I keep the cats and dogs away from her 🫣😅

This has been a rough last couple of weeks here. Our area of Alaska has had two rounds of extreme winds upwards of 85-90mph..

This has done extensive damage to our animals shelters and storage shelters. We are working on taking things apart and formulating a plan to fix things enough to get through the rest of winter but it's hard.
There are at least a couple thousand dollars in damages and we are considering what to do for the future so this doesn't pose the same results in the future if we continue to get these nasty windstorms.
