Peoples Food Forest Coalition This the official page of the Peoples Food Forest Coalition.

The purpose of this page is to inform anyone that has an interest in developing and sustaining a food forest in a pre-existing food deserts in the Knoxville area. Currently we are working in the Vestal area, if you have an area you think needs a food forest message us. It is our hope that through food forest no area in Knoxville will be designated as a food desert in the future.

RESCUE HELP NEEDED:

This project will take place at Dogwood Elementary in South Knoxville, 705 Tipton Ave. 37920 on Sunday, November 17th, 10:00-1:00.

There are modifications needed for their NO MOW meadow. The area we will be rescuing is for a future outdoor education area with defined paths. We we will be saving natives such as Wild Bergamot, Switch Grass, Purple Coneflower, Gray Headed Coneflower, Rosinweed, Cup Plant, Swamp Sunflower and Big Bluestem for example. We will have wheel barrows, shovels, and gloves. Bring trowels and some extra supples just in case. Text Joy at 731-610-6984 if you are interested.
