The rows are picked,
The season flew,
And we owe a BIG thank you to YOU! ❤️

You bought it by the dozen,
You buttered every ear,
And you kept us busy picking
All summer this year! 😂🌽

It’s been an a-maize-ing season, and we’re incredibly thankful for everyone who stopped by and supported us.

The corn may be done…
but don’t worry, we’ll grow some more. 😉

🌽Have you ever noticed this crazy stuff on an ear of sweet corn?!

It’s called corn s**t. (That really is the name 😂) It can cause kernels to swell up into some pretty strange-looking gray/black growths.

In some countries, it’s known as huitlacoche and is actually considered a delicacy!

A few fun facts:
🌽 It can naturally show up in a cornfield when conditions are just right. We often see it when there has been stress on the plant (excessive heat, hail/wind damage), but even then, it still usually only happens to a few ears.
🌽 It may look a little crazy, but it doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with the rest of the corn.

But don’t worry! If you ever get an ear from us with a little s**t hiding inside, just let us know and we’ll gladly replace it! We do our best to catch it, but Mother Nature occasionally sneaks one past us. 😂🌽

Our next round of sweet corn needs just a few more days to ripen! ☀️🌽

We will not have corn at the stand for the next few days while we patiently wait for Mother Nature to finish doing her thing.

We’ll keep you posted as soon as it’s ready to pick! 🌽💛

*update * corn is at the stand*We will have corn in town at the stand as soon as possible. We pick in the rain and mud but not in the lightning. So we are delayed getting the corn to town this morning.
