Important Letter from Angie:
It is with great sadness that I must announce, after this week Cook’s will no longer be producing any products for the foreseeable future. Next week I’m going in for my 3rd neck/back surgery, with a high probability of needing a 4th soon after. My recovery time will be much longer & more intense than in the past, and running things from afar is simply untenable.
This has been a very difficult decision for me. Building & growing Cook’s, 1st with my family & more recently with a close Work Family, has been the focal point of my life for the last 5 years. I’ve learned so much & enjoyed meeting each of you— seeing the joy that our products bring often reminds me of my Grandma Betty, who was the inspiration for my mission to spread love through (pimento) cheese. I hope that this will only be a short pause, but I am uncertain about the future.
We’re dropping off our final deliveries thru Fri to some retail locations & will be downtown this Saturday. We’d love to see you, cheese 🧀 you, and celebrate how far we’ve come ❤️
My dear husband, John, started this whole endeavor when he came driving up in a dilapidated delivery truck for my birthday one year. He totally transformed it into the coolest food truck. He’s been the rocket fuel I needed to get started & the glue to hold me together when things got shaky—if you’ve ever thought “how did I go so long without THIS pimento cheese in my life” then you have John to thank. My kids were the first employees, all crowded together in a sweltering hot truck—sure they complained sometimes, as teenagers will do, but they never let me down, & helped bring this business further than I ever thought it could go.
Finally along came my girls, 1st Caroline & then Emma…they made my life so much easier, better & funnier. They came in with their skills & poured into this cheesy biz like it was theirs. They have been exactly what I needed. They have worked hard, laughed hard & have just been amazing.
To Each & Every customer, thank you for your encouragement, support and love for cheese. You have been the VERY best part of this cheese life.
So this is not goodbye, just see you later…
