2019 and with all the access to information we still live in a state with ignorance. The state of Tennessee government can no longer let medical cannabis sit on the back burner because they don’t have the courage to act on behalf of the people they represent. What use are the politicians who vote based on bigotry.
The politicians will go beyond to make sure to give parents vouchers to get their kids into different schools. But will not act when those same children are dying of cancer and epilepsy.
In Tennessee we will have over 1200 die of op**te overdose this year. However our politicians will not save 300 of those people and their families from the pain of laying to rest thier mother, father, son, daughter.
I use to be proud to live in this beautiful state. But witnessing the bigotry of the politicians over something as little as cannabis makes me ashamed to be living in one of the last remaining states who cannot stand up for the persons right to heal themselves with this plant.
It Kinda makes me laugh and it kinda makes me sad when I see people say that CBD is the medicinal part of cannabis and THC is not.
You will hear that epileptic kids don’t need THC. They need the CBD part, because that’s all you hear, that’s what the news tells you. That’s what you see everyone discussing, that’s what all the fuss is about.
FULL STOP.
Okay, saying that CBD is the ONLY medicinal part of the cannabis plant is a very backwards statement because THC literally gives Nova months at a time without seizures.
THC is her medicine. I want people to understand that different cannabinoids are going to help and effect people differently.
Next time you see someone say CBD is the only medicinal part of cannabis, and THC just gets you high, make sure they know there is so much more to the story than what most people have been told.
Here is the truth. CNN is not going to come out and tell you that kids in Colorado are using THC for their medical conditions.
You aren’t going to hear about it all over the news because people might be against this if they knew that children were using THC oil for epilepsy, right? There is a narrative, that it is okay for sick kids like mine to use cbd because it doesn’t get you high, right? They talk to you about CBD because it’s something that everybody can get behind, so CBD is perfect for epileptic kids! Let them have it since it won’t make them high.
Well, little problem there... nova NEEDS THC.
MANY people need THC. including a lot of these kids.
Sometimes I wonder if people understand how truly HIGH my daughter was on PHARMACEUTICALS. I’m talking about VA**UM. ATIVAN, DIAZEPAM. ONFI. SABRIL, KEPPRA, AND ZONEGRAN. adult doses of these medications, for my child.
For my BABY. and they didn’t stop the seizures. THATS why you see photos of Nova that look like the photo on the left. It wasn’t just the seizures, those drugs y’all, people buy those on the street with the INTENTION of getting “messed up.”
Our kids with severe refractory epilepsy, they take drugs like Depakote... phenobarbital... guys, some of these kids are on experimental veterinary drugs used to treat epileptic ANIMALS when all else fails. Do people understand how dangerous these pills are for these kids?
My child was extremely high on those pills. THATS what it looks like for a child to be “high.” NOT the daughter I have today. She is not some incapacitated, stumbling, limp, catatonic child. Pharmaceutical drugs made her HIGH. when nova takes her cannabis oil, it is NOTHING like those pharmaceutical drugs.
Don’t you ever let anyone tell you that CBD is the only thing these children need and deserve and that’s the bottom line.
That is NOT true.
That is why you see families like ours move to Colorado and other legal states.
It’s not so that our kids can try cbd oil. It is because some of them need more than that, and it’s WORKING.
