Our first Terpin Azienda Agricola Terpin Franco tasting at Central Bottle last night was one for the books! Woah so many of you came and loved the wines - it really made me so excited and yes also emotional to see this level of engagement and curiosity for these special wines that Franco and his family are producing in Friuli! Thank you everyone for coming out and joining us last night, thank you for your enthusiasm, openness to taste new wines, supporting small artisanal producers, thank you Central Bottle for hosting us, thank you B for amazing team work and thank you Cordoni Maser Winery & Ciao Vina Experiences imports for making it all possible ✨✨✨ What a wine community! Hi Knoxville friends!

This Friday, August 14th, from 5–7pm, I’ll be at Central Bottle pouring wines of Franco Terpin from Collio, Friuli!

And this one is a really special one for me.

I met Franco back in 2010, when I was still a student and just beginning to learn about organic and biodynamic farming and winemaking. Franco was one of those people who really shaped the way I came to understand wine. He has been a mentor to me for many years, and I have so much respect and appreciation for the way he works with his vineyards and approaches winemaking.

Franco farms organically and with a deep respect for the land and biodiversity in his vineyards. His wines are made with very little intervention, spontaneous fermentation with native yeast, long-er macerations and, most importantly, a lot of patience and intuitive approach to every step in his vineyards and the work at the winery. He doesn’t try to make the wine fit a certain idea of what it should be. He gives the grapes time and space to become what they are. And ahhhh the result are truly incredible wines - come try for yourself!

Being able to finally bring these wines here with support of Cordoni Maser Imports Cordoni Maser Winery & Ciao Vina Experiences feels pretty amazing - this is the first time Franco’s wines are coming into TN, and I’m really excited to open them and share them with you and chat more.

Hi everyone! So excited to announce that our next Ciao Knox Mercato event is coming up in just a few weeks - please mark your calendars for Sunday, August 23rd from 4pm-7pm and join us for some fun Italian-market experiences at The Plaid Apron ✨🍷 🇮🇹

This special Mercato is dedicated to “Festa Della Vandemmia” in celebration of Harvest Season 🍇

As usual, during the event, you can shop your way around the Marcato located in the parking lot in front of Plaid Apron - we have so many new exciting vendors joining us this time around.

Guests will also have the opportunity to attend Pizza&Wine Tasting Experience with me inside the restaurant. This will be a fun opportunity to sit down, enjoy delicious sourdough pizza and taste through a selection of new wines from Cordoni Maser Winery & Ciao Vina Experiences winery that are being brought to town.

My wish for my 40th birthday was very simple - a week on a sailboat. That’s all haha!

And I couldn’t have imagined a more meaningful gift. A chance to disconnect from the noise and reconnect with myself. A week made possible by grandparents who gave us the greatest gift of babysitting our five-year old. Time for me to simply be. Time to deeply reconnect with my husband. Time to nourish a relationship that deserves our full presence especially in the busy season of parenting.

A week spent wrapped in the sacred waters of the Croatian sea. Jumping into the water first thing every morning and again right before bed. Leaving the sea salt on my skin because it somehow nourishes both my body and my soul. Cooking fresh seafood every day, buying mussels straight from fishermen’s boats, finding local honey on tiny islands, drinking coffee on a paddleboard, reading an entire book without distractions, and rediscovering the sweetness of doing absolutely nothing even though it took me a few days to remember that not every moment has to be “productive”. Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is simply sit in stillness and watch the sun disappear below the horizon.

I also learned a new word that feels like it could have always resonated with me.

Opacarophile. Someone who loves sunsets and finds beauty in the quiet transition from day to night. Why are we people so drawn to these moments of beauty when the light transitions into darkness. So very sacred.

So grateful I got to spend a week with seven beautiful friends and co-create so many magic-filled moments ✨

Back in May, a friend asked me what I was looking forward to most about this trip to Europe. The answer rolled off my tongue before I even had time to think.

This time around, I have felt deeply called to explore water and immerse myself in it. Lakes, springs, waterfalls, the sea, ancient wells. I have wrapped myself in water at every step of this journey through Europe. And with no planning, no intentional searching - most incredibly pristine waters just appeared in front of me like they have been waiting there for me to great me, heal me, nurture me.

And then a few days ago on our sailing trip in Croatia I entered river Krka.

It took everything to a whole new level.

The sacredness of these waters is difficult to put into words. It feels like stepping into another dimension, where time slows down and all that is left is the playful joy of finding my way through some of the most pristine waters I have ever experienced.

Sure, you can enter this park as a tourist and have a completely different time but with the right intention this place can provide a truly magical experience ✨🙏🏼 🌊

Enjoyed two gorgeous days in Tolmin soaking in all the beauty that these mountains and rivers have to offer. Portals of magic on every step ✨ also absolutely loved natural wine gathering .festival curated in most beautiful setting on the riverbanks of Soča and Tolminka river, surrounded with pristine nature. Super kid and family friendly too which is not usually the case with wine events. Fantastic wines and ahhh still thinking of that smoked trout/fennel/cucumber salad. So much joy and celebration in one place, conversations about life and wine that went long into the night under the sky full of bright starts, and incredible amount of passionate winemakers who truly bring the best quality and experience to the table. A night to remember! So grateful for our Slovenian natural wine community! Can’t wait for next time ✨🥰🍷

Some places stay with you long after you’ve left, and Il Falconiere is one of them. The light and air just hits different here ✨

Our stay just outside Cortona was a true feast for all the senses. Every detail felt intentional, from the genuine hospitality and impeccable service to the way the property melts seamlessly into the surrounding Tuscan landscape.

And then there was the food. Breakfast spreads we’ll be dreaming about for a long time (pistachio croissants that good that I had zero guilt about eating them because pleasure outweighed the calories 😅) unforgettable dinners celebrating the richness of Tuscany’s fresh summer ingredients, and every dish prepared with elegance while remaining deeply rooted in local tradition.

At the heart of it all is Silvia Baracchi, whose vision has transformed her family’s historic estate into this incredible oasis of peace, artistry and indulgence. Her passion for preserving local traditions, incorporating local ingredients and craftsmanship while embracing creativity shines through in every corner of the estate - from the endless herb gardens, their own vineyards, dishes she is perfecting in the kitchen with her team to chandeliers in the main dining area that she put together with her own hands, bead by bead.

Sharing a glimpse into a week in Italia, our very own “la dolce vita” during our Central Italy Artisanal Trip we curated with my dear friend and partner ✨

Over the past week, we tasted and savored our way through four extraordinary wine regions: Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, and Abruzzo. Each with its own personality, traditions, wines, cuisine, and landscapes.

From the endless rolling golden hills of Tuscany, to the lush green heart of Umbria, the dreamy Adriatic coastline of Marche, and the dramatic backdrop of the Apennine peaks in Abruzzo, every stop was a feast for all the senses.

We enjoyed incredible lineups of wines and feasting our way through some unforgettable meals, while meeting new friends and making memories. Grateful for the stories shared, the tables gathered around, and the beautiful new friendships created along the way that will now bring about new adventures together.

My biggest joy of curating these experiences is how new friendships and new chosen families are being born and created that last for decades ✨

Together we’ll spend six magical days and five unforgettable nights between two stunning villas - one nestled in Northern Istria and the other in Central Istria.

We’ll wander through charming stone villages, visit exceptional organic and biodynamic wineries, indulge in some of the most incredible food Istria has to offer, soak in the beauty of the Adriatic coast, and begin each day with gentle mindfulness practices designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and truly savor the experience.

This retreat was first offered to returning guests, and I’m so grateful that it’s almost full. We now have just TWO SPOTS remaining in a beautiful shared double rooms.
