We enjoyed a little trip to Helen, GA on fall break. This little town captured our hearts. Mullers Cafe won my vote for best food with their gluten free options! The Fest Hall delivered super talented live polka music and dancing. The flowers and local art wowed us from beginning to end!
We’d all 10/10 recommend!

YouTube video of our trip coming soon!

Have you been to Helen?!

Brad Cox will soon be putting this beauty of a ram into the paddock with our ladies for spring lambs. I truly admire all that Brad does with our sheep to keep them healthy and thriving.

Notice the purple mark on this guy’s back? He’s been kissed by a poke berry! So have several of my shirts this week. ☺️ Tis the season!

If you would have told me as a child that in 2026 I’d learn to ride a horse I would have never believed you. Horsemanship has been a life long dream of mine. While some people look at their age and say it’s too late for that dream, not me! Brad Cox made that dream a reality this year!

While on a horse, one forgets all the wows of the world. It’s been so good to have my mind and body working on a new skill in my year of mourning.

I know I’ve learned just a drop on the bucket, but I’m loving every second of it and look forward to every lesson.

If you’d like to contribute to the horse fund, visit my ETSY shop 🤣.

If you’re anything like me, it’s time to redeem your gardens, yards, and homesteads from w**d paradise.

Between the heat and a broken w**d-eater, things got a little carried away. I’m quite humbled by this messy haircut of a homestead. I confess I like things to look nice. This Saturday I got to let folks know, a homestead can still be functional without all the time for constant cosmetic maintenance. Is it my favorite? No! I’d rather everything look perfectly manicured. Brad constantly reminds me, that’s not how a homestead works. 😝

You see, we started our homestead before our kids got into all the sports and activities. Now we’re learning how and what we can manage in the midst of very little time at home. Have you gone through this with your homestead? What balls did you drop?

This is the week! The weather and schedule have finally allowed me to take a breath and pull the w**ds!! Still no w**d-eating as it’s still not fixed (hopefully soon), but lots of TLC with my two hands will ensue. The second photo here is my pile of collected w**ds from Monday 😳.

So far we’ve decided to not give up on anything we have going on here. Grace upon Grace may end up being the name of our current homestead. 🙃

Happy w**d pulling week. 😝

Saturday’s workshop was a hit! We spent all day learning how to raise and process meat rabbits with five eager to learn students!

Nothing beats the joy of seeing people learn a new HARD (emotionally) skill! Way to go Dave, Miller, Juliet, Chantel, and Rachel! We’re super proud of all of you!

That’s a wrap on our 2026 workshops. Watch for more in 2027.

This Saturday’s workshop is sold out! This is our last workshop for 2026. Workshops will resume in 2027.

Happy Caturday!

The foster babies we’re caring for are all finally enjoying wet food! I was beginning to think a couple of them were never going to eat. They go for a weight check today. I can definitely tell they’ve grown in the past two weeks!

They enjoy playing with baskets, snuggling, and meeting Barney. The orange one is especially interested in Barney. It’s fun to watch their personalities develop. I think all three will make great loving pets!!

Mama, is very outgoing and will need a home too!

If you love kitties but can’t foster, OR if you love these adorable Caturday posts, consider making a kitten wet food donation to Sevier County Animal Shelter this week. We have lots of little mouths to feed. ☺️ Sevier County Animal Shelter This program thrives on donations!
