I choose “Ewe!” Just kidding! Oops I mean “Just Lambing.” I choose, “Ram!”

Our website has been updated with current sheep stock available. We have 1 St Croix ewe, 1 St Croix wether, and two St Croix rams left. There’s also two rams that are St Croix crosses (lower budget friendly).

We have one ewe (potential mama) left that hasn’t lambed. We don’t know if she will this season. We separated the ram (daddy) Saturday and we will return him for more loving this fall.

Rabbit- the forgotten livestock.

And as strange as it may be, the Lord has given me a unique calling to revive a staple that once sat on the tables of the American home.

In fact, the reason we have domesticated rabbits in America today is because of meat!

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.”
Lamentations 3:22-23

This morning I’m feeling so grateful for the Lord’s faithfulness in my life.

Pictured here you see blue Canterbury bells. They’re a lovely biannual plant. I started them in winter sowing jugs March 2025, transplanted them into the ground May 2025, and now after a year of patience, have blooms in May 2026!

God designed a flower to bloom over a year after planting (bi-annuals). They bloom once and never again. That’s it. There’s no more work for the plant. In order to get more blooms, you have to sow more seeds and wait another year. God is not rushed. Canterbury Bells ring (bloom) in His perfect timing, whispering of His patience and perfect timing.

Happy Caturday!

It’s a rainy morning here on the homestead. I have rabbits going to their new homes, birthday parties to attend, and sheep to tag, photograph and separate!

On my morning walk I decided the moonflowers needed a little Beethoven.

I’m one week away from presenting at the 🇺🇸. I’m getting so excited. Let me know if you’re going to be there!

In the meantime, preparing to leave the homestead sounds a little like the Moonlight Sonata in my head. Just when I think I got everything ready, there’s another movement to the piece. 😝

Thanks for all your unconditional love, hard work, and willingness to say, “yes” to all my crazy ideas. You do a great job of loving me and the kids like Jesus. I truly admire you, 🥰.

If ever you wonder how we get everything done around the homestead, don’t be fooled, it’s because of this guy! He gets it done! I just dream it up.

Rainy day chicken processing workshop ✅

Homestead life goes on rain or shine! These brave souls came out this morning to learn the nastiest of homestead chores: processing meat chickens. While it isn’t my favorite task, they’re worth it for their tasty flavor!
