No sign of Beauregard yet. This photo was taken last Sunday and saved for today’s Caturday post. Little did I know it’d be the center of a lost poster for him just two days later.

I’m torn between holding on to hope, and mourning he’s gone. The Lord and I have had quite a few conversations about this loss. My questioning of all the losses in the last year seems so minor in comparison to all the other hurting in the world. Yet, I know the Lord still hears my cries.

It’d be a lie if I didn’t say I’ve thought about giving up on all animals a few times this week. The heartbreak seems never ending. Somehow deep down, I know I’m called to love animals and love them deeply. Animals have a way of healing and drawing me closer to the Lord. So, here I am. Still loving who I have left and pressing on. Here’s to hoping Beau shows up and also accepting he may not.

With all this said, my plan to try and resume regular posting starting next week. I’ll most certainly share if he shows up, but unless you hear from me otherwise, it’s safe to assume Caturdays will never be the same.

Stay tuned for a new French Lop buck I’ll be sharing with you soon!

PS maybe Beau went to be with Dolly. He went missing the same day she passed. His purr will harmonize beautifully with her voice in Heaven.

All of our available lambs have SOLD and went on to # new pastures. 🥳 We can now focus on finishing out the lambs we will process this year for our meat. We are considering an on farm processing workshop taught by someone who’s done it several times before. Would a lamb processing workshop interest you?

This weekend I brought home a new pedigreed New Zealand red doe. New Zealand reds are my favorite meat production buns. I historically loooove their coloring, personalities, and grow out weights. The previous owner named this doe, Ginger. I can’t wait to see if that name is a reflection of her personality or just a reference to her color. ☺️

I’m on the hunt for a pedigree New Zealand red buck. If you know anyone that has one, let me know! I have a fawn pedigree buck I’ll try her with in the meantime. Before I start breeding, Ginger has to pass quarantine and adapting to our homestead.

For the first time ever, we’re offering an all-in-one day on raising rabbits! People have been asking me to combine these two classes for a while now. This is combo class is a trail to see how it goes! Spaces are very limited and already sold out half way from a few on my wait list. So if you’re interested don’t delay!

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”

When people ask if we’re going to have more children I often reply, “My quiver is full.” For those of you who don’t know that reference, maybe this verse from Psalms will help. I feel so blessed and challenged by my children daily.

This week we’re in the thick of preparing for the Sevier County Fair. Between the rabbit show, arts and crafts, produce, and flowers, we have a lot to enter. 🤓 Fair time just happens to be our favorite time!

The weather has been rainy enough to get flowers from seed in 45 days! Looks like I need to plant some more this evening in hopes of getting more flowers before frost!
