Lawrence County Junior Fair 2022

Congratulations and Great Job to my grandson Landon! Landon is a member of the Blackhawk High School FFA and Neat Kids Goat Club. This is his first year showing a goat project and was in the Heavyweight Class with “Skipper” sired by 🔥Hot Rod🔥.
Landon and I would like to give a huge THANK YOU to all who helped out. Steve Hugh and Jacob Graham for working with Landon fitting. Jara Madzia for all of her coaching, show day fitting and spending the entire show day with us. Ginny Russell Chamberlain for taking care of the herd at home while we were gone. Donnie and Mindy Madzia for loaning us their camper which by the way, is for sale. 2014 Passport Ultra Lite Grand Touring. Thanks to Brittany Miller and Easton for making time for Landon to put in all the work. Thanks Gram and Betsy Kithas for supporting Landon at the show. And last but not least, thank you Melissa Joann Russell for all your help and putting up with our goat addiction. 😊

Happy delivered a buck and a doe this afternoon. This is her first time kidding and as you can see in the picture, she is very proud. She was purchased from Jacob Graham Graham’s Livestock’s Spring Sale last year.

Snowing outside, fireplace lit and just settled down under blanket in recliner to watch football.
Miss Pearl had other plans. Triplets tonight. 2 bucks and a doe. It was her first time kidding and all went perfect.
I may get to see the 2nd half, I may not. 3 more Mama’s to go. 12 kids on the ground this week.

Today’s kidding was less quantity but a lot of quality! One BIG buck born today with such a big noggin’ that vet assistance was needed to get him out. He is definitely his dad 🔥Hot Rod’s🔥 mini me. 😀

After breeding season last year it was time to part with our herd sire, Remmy.

In March we purchased our new herd sire, 🔥Hot Rod 🔥 from Hugh Farms LLC.
