We got to go do bbq things with our bbq friends this weekend. The weather at the Parker County Sheriff’s Posse cookoff was amazing this year! We thought we turned in some decent food but the judges didn’t think it was quite good enough.

We ended up:
13th chicken
14th rib
11th pork
4th brisket
Good enough for 7th overall

Special shoutout to Wendy on a 4th place cooks choice ! It was delicious!

Congrats to our Future of BBQ contestant in the group, Ella on her 4th place steak. She did everything herself except light the fire. Good job kid!

We made a last minute decision to run over to Alvarado to try our luck. It was cold, wet and windy but we had a great time seeing our bbq friends.

We ended up

Brisket 9th
11th overall

Not too bad considering all of our meat came out of the freezer around 7pm last night

We survived our first KCBS contest this weekend at Cedar Fest. We made all of our turn-ins and had a great time hanging out with our friends, even though some were missing. We learned a lot and look forward to trying our luck at another KCBS soon.

We ended up:
15th chicken (it would’ve been better if I had remembered to use the correct seasonings) 🤦‍♂️
20th ribs (judge 3 said they were perfect, judge 5 said they were tough) 🤷‍♂️
6th pork
15th brisket
12th overall.

We headed down to Seguin this weekend to cook the CBA World Championship contest along with about 140 other great teams. We had a great time seeing all of our friends and celebrating a great 2024 season at the banquet. As far as our cook we ended up with:

43rd chicken
65th rib
64th pork
20th brisket
37th overall.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in New Caney next weekend!
