We spent the day weeding the dahlia field, and it is looking amazing!

September is such a beautiful time on the farm, and we’re opening the dahlia field for scheduled visits throughout the month. Come walk through the rows and enjoy all the incredible colors and varieties in bloom.

Because of the investment we have in our dahlia collection, we don’t offer U-pick in the dahlia field, but freshly cut dahlias will be available to purchase and take home.

Nearly two years ago when Annie was born, she was our only cria, and she didn’t have little buddies to pronk and play with. She’s now doing her very best to re-live what she missed out on, but her two year old adult body just doesn’t move in the same way. She’s always been somewhat of a misfit, so I’m hoping she and Cinder can form a bond and Annie can finally feel connected.

We are enjoying the beautiful organic gardens at Styx & Stones Farmstead! You can find their produce at The Farmhouse Front Porch, Nampa Farmers Market, Indian Creek, the Homedale market, and very soon their own farm store. They have a vast variety of beautiful, healthy produce.

The alpacas and llamas found the weak link in a gate and had quite the event! Ellie performed hurdles across the dahlia field with spectacular grace for her first event. Only one rope and one dahlia down, KA’s Bella Luna taking the hit (sadly my only one of that variety).

A heartfelt thank you to our neighbors, the Noble family, for rounding them up and getting them safely back where they belong.

I thought we had built a trellis for sweet peas and cucumbers, but it turns out that we really made a climbing wall.
