Our first group of pregnant females in order of their due dates, (and their sires at the end) are on their four week count down +/- 15 days. I’ve seen definite cria movement in all females except Pink, in which I’ve seen some questionable movement. Her body is so long, she just may carry differently. 🤞🏻

This cria crop is going to be gorgeous, but I am most looking forward to my Mercury cria.

This blanket represents so much. Most importantly, it carries my love for the sweet baby it now belongs to, but it also holds the many hours of care devoted to our alpacas.

This blanket is Sir Henry and San Jacinta. We are so grateful for the beautiful fiber they gave, allowing me to create something made to wrap the those we love in warmth and comfort. The first time I met Jacinta, I had no idea she would be ours one day. I am so thankful she is.

It’s pretty great to find the balance where strength doesn’t threaten and smallness doesn’t need to retreat.

Cria season is upon us and we anxiously watch for our mamas to show signs of delivery. Our first isn’t due for four more weeks, but there is typically a two week window on either side of the due date for a safe and healthy delivery. We have several mamas due around the end of June, and will post farm visit availability in the coming weeks.

These alpacas never cease to fill my heart. As we walked by the little boys to get to some fresh grass, a mama recognized her baby after more than a year apart. He obviously remembers her too. I guess some bonds are remembered no matter how much time passes.

Dahlia addiction. It’s real. Don’t send help. Just let me live in it.

I’ve come to see this garden as part of learning balance. Not just in what I grow, but in how I care for my body and mind—through what God has already designed for us.

Yarrow for cuts, echinacea for immune support, feverfew for headaches, mullein for the lungs…
thyme and oregano for both kitchen and medicine,
tulsi and lemon balm for calming,
calendula and chamomile for the skin.

I’m still learning. I always will be, but there’s something grounding about growing, harvesting, and using these plants season by season.

If you ever want to walk the garden, learn a little, or gather a few things for yourself, you’re welcome here.

The excitement of getting a turn in the grass! The brothers turn two in May (the two fawn and one black). It’s been interesting to watch them grow as they have the same sire. Being able to watch them grow up side by side, and compare the combination of their sire’s genetics with the different dam genetics has been a great learning opportunity. Each boy has different fiber strengths to offer because of their genetic combinations.
