I've been chasing my personal dream of 34" or under foundation shetlands for a bit now. I applied to hardship Bella Amha and she measured in at 34" a few weeks ago. In today's mail she got her papers. I'm excited to see how she crosses with Vader in the spring.

Raising animals can be hard. You are going to have to deal with loss no matter what you do. But it's just like most things in life, you will have better results if you put more effort into it. If you want to do the bare minimum, you can expect more loss. If you put a lot of time, effort, money, and experience into it you will have less loss.
