2025 was a hit and miss year for salmon returns. While Spring Chinook and Baker River Sockeye returned strong, Samish Bay Chinook, Padilla Bay Coho and Skagit River Coho were a little off by returning later than expected. We enjoyed seeing established customers and meeting new ones, as well. 2025 was the Fish For All year where we tried to meet the moment and make salmon a viable choice for the community. What will 2026 hold? We will evaluate as we get closer to the season. What we have seen is that costs are still rising, but our community is sometimes hesitant to see seafood as a viable option. Traditionally, seafood has been expensive, a special occasion dish, or questionable in quality, depending on where its obtained. It can still be expensive and knowing where your seafood comes from and how it is handled is very important. We work exceptionally hard to catch, handle, and store our products so that our customers can taste the difference. We also work hard to lower the prices and have a direct impact on reducing the stress on our customer's pocket books. We best do this in providing a direct-from-the-fisherman fresh market for salmon in the round. With a little work on your part, you can save a great deal of money, stock up on your favorite variety of salmon, and be ready for dinner on your schedule. There are a ton of articles and recipes on-line to tickle anyones fancy about how to cook salmon, and seafood too. We will make an effort to share them as we come upon them. As for us, we tried a bang-bang salmon recipe recently that we will revisit again. It was pretty good. Thanks!
