Homemade sourdough pickle pizza for the win! Supreme and a dessert pizza with cream cheese and pineapple and bacon. They were all so good. So much work and two days of waiting worth it.

When is never hot and miserable in the summer when checking hives?! Well today I chose a wet, humid and hot miserable day. Good thing I did I found an ant nest trying to take over one of my hives.

So these chickens are just driving me crazy!!

We're about to do a complete overhaul and cut our chicken population down. We have thought about this over and over and its something I really want to do and need to do. Life has been a bit more tough lately due to my hand issues and I can't do some of the work and things that I used to do. Taking care of a hundred chickens isn't easy... I almost decided to get rid of all of them but my husband convinced me to keep some. So we're going down to two small coops. On top everything right now Ive barely been getting 5 eggs a day and I have a bully plucking everyone's butt feathers out. *sigh* Ill be keeping my 'fancy layers' but getting rid of all my blue layers and certain breeds. Hatching eggs availability will be very limited next year. So if you want to take some laying hens off my hands let me know.

Went to just add boxes to the hives today and do inspections and ended up actually harvesting some honey!
