🐓 Student Spotlight!

Yesterday was a pretty good day in the arena!

One of my adult riders made some great progress, and I couldn’t have been more proud of the work she’s been putting in.

She’s been showing up consistently, listening, practicing, and working hard to improve her riding. Yesterday, that hard work started paying off!

She really got her trot together and moved into a nice, controlled lope. Those are the moments I love seeing!

Learning to ride takes time. There’s a lot more to it than just getting on a horse and going. It takes balance, timing, patience, and learning to work with your horse instead of against him.

Not every lesson is going to be perfect, and there’s always going to be something to work on. That’s true no matter how long you’ve been riding.

But when a student keeps showing up, puts in the effort, and starts putting everything they’ve learned together, the difference is noticeable.

The practice. The consistency. The hard work. Sooner or later, it starts to show!

And yesterday, it sure did! ā¤ļøšŸ“ I am so proud of her!

ā€œAnd let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.ā€ — Galatians 6:9 (KJV)

Look at these Aussie babies. šŸ˜

If you’ve been wanting an Aussie with a little more size to them, but don’t necessarily want a big standard, these babies should be right in that sweet spot — large mini/small standard size.

And the COLOR on this bunch. šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø
Blue eyes, fluffy coats, gorgeous markings… they definitely didn’t get cheated in the looks department. šŸ˜‚

But pretty is only part of it. We put a lot of work into raising our puppies from the very beginning so they leave here healthy, confident, loved on, and ready for their new families. ā¤ļø

They will be vet checked, age-appropriate vaccinated and dewormed, microchipped, and come with our 2-year health guarantee.

A few of these sweet babies haven’t found their families yet. ā¤ļø Feel free to message me if you’d like to know more about them.

ā€œEvery good and perfect gift is from above.ā€ — James 1:17

I think sometimes when God puts something on your heart, we expect Him to show us exactly where it’s going.

He usually doesn’t.

He gives us enough light for the next step and asks us to trust Him with everything we can’t see yet.

And that sounds a whole lot easier than it actually is.

Because life changes. Plans fall apart. Doors close. Things happen that you never saw coming. And sometimes you look around and wonder how the dream God put in your heart could possibly still fit into the life you’re living now.

I’ve wondered that more than once.

There have been seasons where I wasn’t thinking about some big purpose or calling. I was just trying to get through the day and handle whatever was in front of me.

But somehow, God kept leading me back here.

Back to the horses.
Back to the dirt.
Back to the barn.
Back to the kids.
Back to teaching.
Back to this little farm and the people He keeps bringing through our gate.

And the more I look at it, the more I realize maybe the calling was never really about horses.

Maybe horses are just the way God chose to use me.

Because somewhere between saddling horses, teaching a kid how to ride, cleaning pens, raising puppies, fixing pens, and doing all the everyday work nobody sees… there are opportunities to love people.

To encourage a kid who needs it.

To teach them that how they treat an animal matters.

To show them that hard work matters.

That keeping your word matters.

That getting back on when something scares you matters.

That they matter.

And most importantly, that God matters.

I still don’t know what the whole picture looks like.

I don’t know exactly where God is taking Turnin’ to Faith Farm or what He has planned for it.

But I don’t think I need to know anymore.

I just need to keep taking the next step.

Keep opening the gate.
Keep saddling the horses.
Keep loving the kids God sends here.
Keep doing the work.
And keep trusting Him with the part I can’t see yet.

Some things God grows in beautiful places.

And some things He grows right in the dirt.

Either way, if He planted it, I’m going to trust Him with it. šŸ¤ŽšŸ“

There’s just something about a life filled with horses and dogs. šŸ¤Ž

They’re a whole lot of work. They eat a ridiculous amount of money 😬, they make messes faster than we can clean them up, and there is ALWAYS something that needs done.

But I can’t imagine our life without them.

Horses teach you patience without ever saying a word. They’ll humble you real quick, make you work for their trust, and somehow know when you need them more than you realize.

And dogs… well, dogs just love you. šŸ’•

They don’t care what kind of day you’ve had, what you got accomplished, or what you didn’t. They’re just happy to be beside you—whether that’s in the house, at the barn, in the truck, or tagging along horseback.

Around here, the horses and dogs aren’t just animals we own.

They’re part of our everyday life.

They’re part of the chores, the memories, the laughs, the frustrations, the lessons learned and some of the very best days.

God sure knew what He was doing when He gave us animals to share this life with. šŸ¤Ž

And I’m pretty sure a good horse underneath you and a good dog beside you can make almost any day a little better.

ā€œThe righteous care for the needs of their animals.ā€ — Proverbs 12:10

We’ve gotten really bad at waiting.
We live in a world where we can order something today and have it on our doorstep tomorrow. We expect texts answered right away, groceries delivered in an hour, and answers at our fingertips.

And whether we realize it or not, sometimes we start expecting life—and even God—to work the same way.

But the things that matter most usually don’t happen overnight.

Good horses take time.
Good riders take time.
Relationships take time.
Growth takes time.
And sometimes, answered prayers take time.

That waiting can be hard.

We want to know when. We want to know why. We want God to show us what He’s doing so we can understand the plan.

But faith isn’t having all the answers.

Sometimes faith is continuing to pray when nothing seems to be changing. Continuing to trust when you can’t see what’s ahead. And learning that God’s timing doesn’t have to match ours to still be good.

Maybe the waiting isn’t wasted time after all.

Maybe God is doing something in us while we wait.

ā€œBe still before the Lord and wait patiently for him.ā€ — Psalm 37:7

It never gets old. šŸ¾ā¤ļø
No matter how many puppies we’ve welcomed into the world, there’s still something pretty incredible about holding one this tiny in your hands.

Eyes closed. Tiny little paws. Completely dependent on us and mama for everything.

There’s a lot that goes into raising dogs that most people never see—the feeding and cleaning, checking babies throughout the day and night, keeping everyone warm, watching weights and growth, caring for mama, endless laundry, vet care, socializing puppies as they grow, and making sure each one gets the best start we can possibly give them.

It’s a lot of work. It’s a lot of responsibility. And yes, sometimes it means a whole lot less sleep!

But moments like this make you stop for a second.

Something so tiny, yet already so perfectly made. Every little paw, every little nose, every detail exactly as God designed it.

God’s creation really is incredible.

And getting to care for these little lives from their very first breath is something we’ll never take for granted.

ā€œFor every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving.ā€ — 1 Timothy 4:4

Welcome to the world, little one. šŸ¾šŸ¤Ž

Morning chores are underway.
Horses need fed.
Water needs checked.
There’s plenty to get done.

Meanwhile, Feya is inside, belly up on my bed, contributing absolutely nothing. šŸ˜‚

Apparently she has decided her job at Turnin’ to Faith Farm is rest and moral support.

And judging by this picture, she takes her position very seriously.

ā€œHe giveth his beloved sleep.ā€ — Psalm 127:2

Another Josie Ɨ Riot pup headed off to start his next adventure! šŸ¤ŽšŸ¾

This handsome little guy went to his new home today, and he’s not headed for the couch life. šŸ˜‚ He’s going to be a ranch dog with plenty of work to do, room to run, and a job to learn.

One of the biggest blessings of raising these pups is all the wonderful people we get to meet along the way. Every puppy brings someone new into our lives, and we’ve been so blessed with the families and working homes that have chosen one of our pups. ā¤ļø

There’s just something pretty special about watching a puppy we raised leave here to become someone’s companion, ranch hand, and right-hand dog.

Go make us proud, little guy! 🤠🐾

ā€œWhatever you do, work at it with all your heart.ā€ — Colossians 3:23
