Another day, another baby calf. I almost feel like I am posting way too many calf pictures and videos. I apologize for the massive amount of calf stuff, but this year I want to post every calf that is born so that you can see them all. Happy Monday everyone!

Happy Sunday everyone! I had two new babies born last night. # 36 is a first time heifer that I’ve been watching for a while. She delivered a beautiful good sized bull calf. # 41 is an older cow who also delivered a nice bull calf. The pasture is quickly filling up with babies. Happy Sunday everyone!

It was a perfect night for grilling! Tonight we cooked up our HFF Black Angus Ribeye and porterhouse steaks, along with boneless pork chops. Soooooo soooooo good!!!

Good morning! You know you’re in the thick of when you wake up to multiple calves that were born. We had three born last night! So far it’s been a relatively decent calving season. Two sets of twins and one backwards calf , but everything born so far has been born alive and healthy. That’s what is important. Have a great day!

We had a set of twins born this morning. We went ahead and put the mother and her calves in the barn for monitoring. The mother is a little feisty.

The winters are cold. The summers are hot. The days are long, and every day you wake up you have no idea what’s waiting for you. Fences break. Water lines freeze. Calves occasionally are still born. It’s a 7 day a week job. Our entire family can never leave the farm for an extended period of time. It’s dark when we leave the house. It’s dark when we get back. This job isn’t nearly as glamorous as people like to think. But… to see this view every day. That’s what makes it worth it. This is why I do what I do.

The chickens always come running when it’s feeding time as well. They are free range but this time of year there isn’t a lot for them to eat so I feed them a lot of grain… and with the price of eggs these days they are worth their weight in gold… literally 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
