Like this doe? She did very well at the MDGA show this past week in the highly competitive and large two year old milker class.

I have her equally nice littermate and her niece available! Prefer they go together, but I would let her littermate go alone. Her niece needs a herd buddy to go with her, and she could be paired with another yearling. All are brood/show quality does looking to be loved on 🥰

What a great show for the second show of the season!! Thank you so much to all who put on the lovely 3-Ring event at the Maryland Dairy Goat Association Spring Fling, as well as the Judges, Jake Bradford, Joseph Larson and Jay Rudolph! Thank you as well to everyone who helped me… I am so grateful!!!

This show had approximately 77 Senior Nigerian Does and 66 Junior Nigerians 😳! I have approximate class sizes for the seniors but I don’t know how many were in each junior class for Nigerians. They were huge!!! I brought out three milkers, one dry yearling, two Nigerian Intermediate kids and one Intermediate Experimental. This show did not disappoint in the quality of the animals presented, and I am overall really happy with how we did. Two of my Juniors were exhausted and didn’t behave well, and their placings reflected that. The highlight of my day was Bubbles coming in second place in that ginormous 2 year old milker class, beating out something like 26 other lovely does and then making her way into the Championship Lineup 😍.

Here are the results!!

Available ADGA registered Nigerian dwarf does:

I have posted a couple available girls before with little interest… so I’m putting this general post up. I would like to cut back the does by 4+ does to right-size my herd. I am looking for good quality homes for these girls… I have pet quality, brood doe quality and show quality animals we could discuss depending on your needs. I do prefer they go to health tested herds, or as the first owned goats. They should go in at least pairs so they settle into their new homes easier. I am located in southern Maryland and can work with transport. CAE-negative tested herd. Looking for nice quality, friendly, gentle goats? Feel free to message and we can discuss your needs and wants!

I let the bucks out today. They don’t get out much, they are generally content in their pen by the barn, but I like to get them out regularly over the non-rut months. I’ve been failing but today they are out for a bit. I am just really so proud to own these boys. Purchased each from dear friends whose herds I admire, I have been lucky to get boys with just very well proven goats to back them up. Billy Elliot gave me two doelings to keep this year that both did me proud as kids in the show ring. And while I let most of Levi’s kids go, they were all gorgeous kids. I kept one of the best and we shall see how she matures. Levi’s female relatives, dam, maternal sisters and littermate have been absolutely stellar in the show ring both this year and last. I can’t wait to see how these guys, as well as little Jackpot, help improve my herd over the next few years. Levi is just a yearling but dang can you see how wide and flat his rump structure is?! 🤯 I’d breed him to every goat I own except his daughter if I didn’t have the two other equally nice, if not better boys. I guess I need to start considering breeding season pairs at some point. I do know Levi will be bred to Aoife but beyond that I am really clueless on pairings lol 😂

Anyone remember this little girl? Well she’s a 2 year old 2F now and she’s all gussied up for the show this weekend. She’s a slow maturing girl and while she earned a Reserve Champion ribbon as a junior, as well as numerous top class placements, as a yearling FF she didn’t show well. Was I disappointed? Of course! But I learned some lessons too… some goats need time. If the structure is there, let them grow up. So I put her back in the barn, bred her again and now she’s a 2F. She definitely looks more mature but I think she’s what many call a “next year goat”. We shall see how she does this weekend but my money is on her for 2027, or even 2028 to really blossom. I truly love this doe, she has nice feet and legs, very correct stance, beautiful brisket extension and depth of body. She has the prettiest feminine neck! Her udder is high, wide and nicely attached and she milks down easily. Her biggest asset though is her personality. Absolutely 10/10 in ease, gentleness and affection. I can’t wait to get updated photos of her this year 🥰

My beautiful Bubbles, aka Drovers Croft ChampagnSuprnova 🥰
