Built a four-way migratory bee skid today. This is an efficient way to manage multiple hives, especially if the they are going to be moved. These hives are heavy when they have stored honey, but are easy to lift with our end loader. I also believe the bees stay warmer when the hives are clustered like this.

After extracting the honey from these supers, we place them in the bee yard. This gives the bees (and other insects too)...

After extracting the honey from these supers, we place them in the bee yard. This gives the bees (and other insects too) a chance to salvage any left over honey and wax. This honey is stored in their hives for winter. If they are left there for several weeks the supers are nice and dry and will not mold or ferment in storage. These 28 supers yielded 420 pounds of honey once bottled.
