One of the greatest blessings of walking the Powwow Trail isn't just serving handcrafted lemonade, it's the relationships we've built with so many incredible families over the years.
This weekend at the 48th Annual Maawanji'iding Powwow reminded us that there's enough room for all of us to succeed.
A huge shoutout to Brain Freeze Shaved Ice, owned by our friends Curtis LaBarge & Theresa Valliere from Waswaagoning. They're an amazing family, fellow girl parents, and Curtis and I even share the same birthday, Earth Day! π What are the odds? If you've never stopped by their stand, you're missing out on 70+ incredible shaved ice flavors that are absolutely delicious.
Another big thank you to Niigaani Frybread & Lemonade from LCO. Matthew, his wife, and his sister have been doing an outstanding job all weekend. One of my favorite moments was when Matthew, another lemonade vendor came over to barter with us. He brought us some amazing tacos, and in return grabbed one of our signature Sunset Dream Lemon Shake Ups. That kind of respect and friendship between vendors is something you don't see every day. Matthew also shared the inspiring story behind Niigaani, honoring the memories of traveling the Powwow Trail with his mom. Those stories are what make this journey so special.
And of course, much love to Round Lake Traditions. For years now, Chi Ma'iingan and his family have always supported us. Their contemporary Ojibwe Anishinaabe clothing designs continue to represent the Great Lakes in a beautiful way, and they're simply great people to have as neighbors on the trail.
We're thankful for every customer who stops by, every conversation, every laugh, and every family working hard to keep these traditions alive.
Here's to supporting one another, lifting each other up, and making memories that last a lifetime.
Day 3... let's finish this Powwow weekend strong! Miigwech to everyone who has shown us love and support. β€οΈπ
