🌅🫐 Sunset on Another Season at Blueberry Haven

The sun has set on our final Saturday of regular picking, and another blueberry season is drawing to a close.

What a season it has been! Sunshine, heat, rain, wind, and a few good storms—and through it all, the berries kept coming. We were especially glad to see folks who thought they had missed their chance still make it to the patch for a bucket or two.

The late-summer weather has moved the remaining fruit along quickly, and our regular picking season has now come to an end.

If you’re still hoping for one last picking, call 570-869-1166 and leave us a message. We’ll see what the patch has to offer and what we can do.

Most of all, thank you—to our returning families, our first-time visitors, and everyone who filled a bucket, stocked a freezer, baked a pie, made jam, or simply enjoyed some time among the bushes.

The bushes will rest, and before we know it, we’ll be watching another crop turn from green to blue.

🫐 Blueberry Haven — One More Saturday! 🫐

We started this week on a high note with some beautiful picking, but the combination of afternoon showers and late-summer heat has moved our season along quickly. Many of the berries that have been hanging on the bushes these past couple of weeks are now beginning to soften, telling us that another blueberry season is coming to its natural end.

We’re planning to remain open through tomorrow, Saturday, from 8 AM–7 PM, and we’ll do our best to help you find the areas where good picking remains.

After Saturday, we’ll be moving away from regular daily picking hours. That doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve missed your last chance. If you’d still like to come pick, give us a call at 570-869-1166 and leave a message. We’ll see what the patch has to offer and what we can arrange.

Most of all, we’re excited to say that it has been a productive season. We hope everyone who wanted blueberries had an opportunity to spend a little time in the patch, fill a bucket, stock the freezer, make a pie—or simply enjoy being here.

Thank you to everyone who came out, brought family and friends, told someone else about us, or returned for another year.

🫐 Blueberry Haven — Final Stretch Picking Update

We’re entering the final stretch of blueberry season, but there are still plenty of berries to be found!

As the season progresses, some of the berries that have remained on the bushes are beginning to soften. There are also many areas of the patch with plenty of nice, firm berries, and we’ll do our best to point you toward the picking that matches what you’re looking for.

Recent storms have brought some heavy rain and wind through the patch, but we intend to remain open as far into the season as Mother Nature and the berries will allow.

🌤️ Picking Weather Ahead

Tuesday: Partly sunny • 82° — A comfortable afternoon for picking.

Wednesday: Morning fog giving way to mostly sunny skies • 83° — Looking like a very nice picking day.

Thursday: Mostly sunny through much of the day • 82° — A 30% chance of showers develops after 2 PM, so earlier picking may be your best bet.

Friday: Mostly sunny • 77° — That sounds like some pretty wonderful blueberry-picking weather!

Saturday: Mostly sunny • 77° — Another beautiful day currently shaping up for the patch.

🫐 If you still need berries for the freezer, a batch of jam, a pie, or simply a bowl of fresh blueberries, don't count the season out yet.

🫐 Blueberry Season Isn’t Over Yet… ☀️

Many of the area’s blueberry patches are wrapping up for the season…

Blueberry Haven isn’t.

We still have hundreds—likely thousands—of pounds of beautiful blueberries waiting to be picked. Even better, two of our seven varieties still have green berries ripening, so we’ll continue to have fresh berries into the coming weeks.

The bushes are easy to pick, the rows are easy to walk, and now is a great time to fill the freezer, bake a pie, make jam, or simply enjoy fresh blueberries.

🌤️ Picking Weather This Week

Tuesday: A beautiful start with morning fog giving way to sunshine and a high near 83°.

Wednesday: Another comfortable picking day with a high near 83°. If you’re planning to come, this is one of the better days before the weather becomes more unsettled.

Thursday–Saturday: Warmer temperatures in the mid-80s with increasing chances of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Morning picking will likely offer the best opportunities, and we’ll continue posting weather updates as conditions change.

🎉 This weekend is the Susquehanna County Library Blueberry Festival in Montrose! If you’re heading to the festival, make Blueberry Haven part of your weekend plans. Stop by before or after and take home some fresh local blueberries while the season is still going strong.

🫐 What a Beautiful Saturday at Blueberry Haven! ☀️

The weekend is off to a fantastic start! We’ve got cool morning temperatures, sunshine, and just enough of a breeze to make for a comfortable day in the patch. It’s shaping up to be one of those days that reminds us why summer in northeastern Pennsylvania is so special.

As we head into the final stretch of the season, the patch is telling its story.

🫐 Two of our seven varieties still have green berries that will carry us into the coming weeks.

💙 The other five varieties are fully ripe and ready to be picked!

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to stock the freezer, bake a pie, make jam, or simply enjoy fresh blueberries, this is your opportunity. The berries are plentiful, the rows are easy to walk, and picking has never been more enjoyable.

Next weekend is the Susquehanna County Library Blueberry Festival in Montrose, and we’re looking forward to a strong finish to another wonderful season. We’d love to see these ripe berries find their way into your buckets instead of staying on the bushes.

🫐 Blueberry Haven Weather Update – Wednesday 🌤️

The rain was certainly welcome yesterday! 🌧️ The bushes soaked it up, and the berries are looking plump and beautiful across the patch.

🌿 We’re OPEN today!

This morning started cool with a little patchy fog, but conditions are expected to improve through the morning.

☀️ Best Picking Window: Morning through early afternoon.

⛈️ There is about a 40% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2:00 PM, so if you’re planning to pick today, we’d recommend coming earlier rather than later.

As always, we only pause picking if thunder or lightning moves into the area. Rain alone doesn’t necessarily stop the fun!

Rain doesn’t stop blueberry picking, but thunder and lightning do.

🌤️ Wednesday is currently looking less wet than today, but we’ll continue to monitor today’s system and provide another update as conditions become clearer.

🫐 The rain is giving these berries exactly what they need. The bushes are loaded, peak season is here, and we’re looking forward to seeing everyone as soon as the weather cooperates safely.
