Sometimes growing food looks like a garden. Sometimes it looks like dinner. 🌱🍕

Broccoli microgreens have always been one of my favorite things to grow, especially because they’re so easy to work into foods we already eat.
They don’t have to mean fancy salads or complicated recipes. Tonight, they simply ended up on homemade pizza.
There’s something really satisfying about growing even a small part of what ends up on our table.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared much here.

Last year, I jumped into Creekside Organics with both feet. I grew, created, sold at farmers markets, tried things that worked, and learned from plenty of things that didn’t.

Somewhere along the way, I got quiet.
But getting quiet didn’t mean the dream went away. If anything, it gave me time to think about what I want Creekside Organics to become and what I want this space to be.

I don’t have every step figured out. I’m realizing I don’t need to.

For now, I’m just going to start where I am. Share what I’m growing, what I’m learning, what I’m building, and probably some of the messy parts in between.

Here’s to beginning again, without starting from scratch. 🌱

12 seeds became a summer of green beans. And when the season was nearly over, 12 dried pods gave me 54 seeds to begin again.
I went out to the garden expecting to harvest a few seed pods and came back inside thinking about how often we mistake the end of a season for simply an ending.
I wrote more about that moment in my newest Rooted Reflections entry, 54 Seeds.
Sometimes the smallest beginnings become more than we ever expected. 🌱
