Botany Bay Plantation and Preserve Wildlife Management Area

A beautiful part of the Lowcountry that is frozen in time. Mother Nature calls the shots as humans are mere visitors to this beautiful area.

Please note: Driftwood Beach is ONLY accessible at LOW TIDE and is FULLY ENGULFED at HIGH TIDE. Plan future visits accordingly. Buddy spent 3 days tracking tides and preparing the Littles for our afternoon adventure.

Tonight, Lakyn was front and center stopping her Daddy's heart (who is not ready for her to be driving yet haha). Buddy shared the secrets behind Dirty Girl's operation.

The farm is always changing but it is even more special to watch Buddy share his knowledge with his Grand-Littles the same way Granddad shared with him. While change in unavoidable, investing in the next generation is a sweetness that eases the slow pain of time. Family will always be at the heart of who we are.

Urban Interface Deer populations are under incredible pressure in the Lowcountry due to human expansion. We noticed that deer on the farm were struggling because the land couldn't support their concentrated feeding. Therefore, Buddy made the immediate decision to supplement corn while specialized food plots were created in hidden pockets on the farm.

Jayce has now learned the importance of caring for the land: a skill passed on to Buddy by Granddad. He worked to throw corn and was wildly excited when the ladies showed up with a couple of bucks to eat. By the end of their time on the farm, both Littles were hollering when it was time to feed the deer.

Please excuse our absence. Tiny Humans are spending time learning our family's heritage the way Granddad intended.

First up.... safety.

Granddad was adamant to be safe always. That includes buckling up on all equipment. If it comes with a seat belt from the factory then there is a reason and we should use it. Miss Lakyn noticed Buddy not buckled up on Dirty Girl (the excavator). She proceeded to give him encouragement to be safe before looking to Emily as help.

Note: Dirty Girl was parked and off for the day but Lakyn still got a "Great Job"!
