A Week in Review at Maple Hill Farm
Fall is definitely nudging its way in — you can feel it in the air, and yes, that other season is lurking right behind it. Even so, we packed plenty into the week. Salsa is finished, pears are picked, and we sold at the market (and might be back this Wednesday). Candles and deodorant are restocked both in the store and online.
Speaking of the website… you all have truly blessed us with your orders. I can’t thank you enough. The farthest package this week went all the way to Alaska, which still amazes me.
We did sneak in a little treat at Ladysmith’s newest shop, Winter’s Delight. If you came to our lambing open house back in 2022, you might remember their adorable cookies — tiny sheep holding Maple Hill Farm signs. We are so fortunate to have so many wonderful small businesses in this town. Please keep supporting them all.
Saturday brought a group of friends who helped Brian with the raised beds outside his greenhouse. Moments like that remind us how deeply grateful we are for the people God has placed in our lives.
And then… the big moment of the week. Our sump pump went out. Not exactly a celebration, but what was worth celebrating is that Brian made it to the basement for the first time in 2.5 years. My lack of mechanical expertise may have been the motivator, but I help however I can 😜. He went down and up twice, and the sump pump is now working. Proof that blessings can hide in the most inconvenient places.
