Its been a wild 2 weeks! We started show season at Warren County Open show where we got Grand and Reserve champions for white and Natural colored Border Leicesters. Ram lamb Agne 4554 “Eclipse” beat his yearling brother for champion natural ram which was a surprise! Im quite excited to see this young buck grow as he’s been staying at the top of his classes. Yearling ewe, “Charm” was the champion ewe and also champion fleece and took home Supreme Fleece for the show. Not bad for a ewe that was never shown before!
The following weekend we had our Open sheep show at NJ state fair, nice and close to home! We once again took champion ram and ewe. This show combines the whites and naturals, and this year my Naturals are truly proving themselves, yearlings that are twins out of Jakeman 2010, both got to be in the supreme drives. Yearling ram Agne 4545 “Xaden” truly left an impression this show. The judge who has seen my borders over the last few years told me he has seen a real improvement and they are looking good this season, which is a huge compliment for my flock and breeding program.
Every sheep on the show string this year is bred and owned by my farm, which took some time to do but i am extremely proud in how far we’re going.
For those who know I had a medical emergency the week in between the two shows which limited my abilities, but I am beyond grateful to my show friends and family who were there to help me get my sheep to the fair and shown❤️
