🍷 A Pope wanted to spend time in France… and wine history was never the same.

In the 1300s, the papacy moved to Avignon, helping transform the surrounding Rhône Valley and eventually giving rise to the legendary wines of Châteauneuf-du-Pape—literally, “the Pope’s new castle.” 👀
