As a Farmers we wear SO many hats. Builder, small engine repair, meteorologist…but one of the MOST important is providing healthcare for our animals. While a relationship with a good livestock vet is paramount for travel health certificates, emergencies and overall animal health needs here is a list I have comprised for my personal med kit/cabinet. If you are new do not let this list overwhelm you! This is just a suggestion of things I have found helpful to have on hand over the years. I put stars by things that I have used more often and items that have gone prescription only (from a veterinarian) are on the bottom of the list. Having a well stocked kit handy can save your animals life in an emergency and at the very least make it easier on you not running back and forth to the store in any situation. As we all know, they are most likely to kid after hours, pop up with pneumonia, or break a horn on a holiday weekend when everything is closed. 🤦🏽♀️ Being equipped to handle injury or illness quickly can make a HUGE difference in recovery time!!
