This girl ensures I get my blood flowing about once a day on the regular, just for fun. And then jumps up like I shot her about the 3rd time I yell her name as I’m yanking open her stall gate….anyone else have a De@th napper that stresses you out?!? 🙄

Absolutely stunning sunset tonight while I was cleaning stalls and doing night chores!

This moment is over a year in the making….when I got this recip as a kid she was EXACTLY what you expect when you hear her name….BANANAS (her name my buddy gave me when she arrived.) I was pre-warned in the beginning that she was a hands-off, touch me not, run from you kind of gal. AND that she was the true epitome of what he named her. 😆 I went into it with my eyes wide open…. She is however, one of the craziest Goats I have ever had on my property…. 🤪
This moment right here was over a year in the making. This is the first day EVER that she has voluntarily touched me or allowed me to touch her without climbing the walls, slamming into the fence and attempting every imaginable escape route and some that make no sense. 😆🤷🏻‍♀️😂 I’ve literally spent the last year handling her with kid gloves every opportunity. But it took a year, a pregnancy, and almost 6 weeks locked in a barn stall…. Over the last four days She will now take cookies from my hand and allow me to very gently pet her face and maybe her side if I’m lucky. Instead of running to the back corner and hiding every time she sees me, she now comes close to the front and sniffs at me while I am handling her baby, changing her water, feeding her, etc.. we’re not there yet, but there’s finally a glimmer of Hope for my relationship with Bananas! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Anyone else see a correlation with “dog sitting” goats being more indicative of being very large as they top out? We have several lines that we have seen multiple dog sitters in the families and they all are bulky goats as they finish out their growth. Pictured is FOREVER BAYLOR who just turned a year old recently. ☺️

What is your favorite kind of recip and why?
I’m a big fan of Dairy goats, they are often already stand trained, friendly AND have a great milk supply. Another HUGE reason I love my “little alien goats” for recips….I’m just over here filling a water trough and they matriculate to where I am and just stand there waiting for attention. I absolutely HATE chasing crazy recips and these girls make sure I don’t have to! 😂
