Good morning!!

We have ground beef available at the farm. This is ground chuck @90% lean. We have a limited amount currently, but have plenty coming up soon. This is USDA inspected and local processed for us.

🧊 ICE STORM CHECKLIST FOR CATTLE PRODUCERS...
Save this before the winter weather hits!

✅ WATER
Break ice early & often
Check access 2x/day
Backup plan ready (tank, hose, generator)

✅ FEED
Plan for 10–25% more hay in ice/wind
Feed best hay to thin cows, heifers, late-gestation cows
Add energy if hay quality is low (introduce slowly)

✅ SHELTER
Set up windbreaks (trees, barns, hay bales)
Move cattle off open ridges
Give them a dry place to lay down

✅ CALVING
Check more frequently during storms
Towels + warming supplies ready
Watch for frostbite (ears/teats)

✅ SAFETY
Sand high-traffic areas (gates, water, feed)
Avoid forcing long walks on ice
Spread hay out to reduce slipping + fighting

✅ EQUIPMENT & ACCESS
Fuel up now
Stage hay close to cattle
Clear paths to gates, water, and feed areas

✅ POWER OUTAGE PLAN
Test generator + stock fuel
Backup water pumping plan
Headlamps/lighting ready

✅ AFTER THE STORM
Watch for pneumonia 3–7 days later
Pull early if cows go off feed/water
Be ready for mud + lameness after thaw

👋 Biggest tip: Stage hay before roads and driveways freeze.
