🚨 SIZE MATTERS 🚨

I opened a box of gluten-free cacao crisps this morning and immediately felt personally attacked.

The box looked promising. Tall. Confident. Full of potential.

Then I opened it.

The bag inside was about 2 inches shorter than the box and only half full.

I have seen better commitment from roosters.

Nothing crushes your dreams quite like opening a package and discovering you paid for a relationship with the BOX, not the product.

Manufacturers out here selling us luxury air with a complimentary snack.

At this point, I would like to know:
• Who approved this?
• Why is the bag wearing high-water pants?
• Did the missing cereal get lost in shipping?
• Was inflation hungry?

I am a farmer. If I sold half a dozen eggs in a carton labeled “full dozen,” people would chase me through the farmers market with pitchforks.

The lesson today:
Whether it is cereal, chips, cookies, or life in general… expectations should match reality.

Because nothing is more disappointing than paying full price and getting half the experience.

First Real Bounty from the Organic Garden!

Nothing beats that proud gardener feeling! 🥰 Our organic garden is finally delivering — fresh-picked this morning:
• Crisp, vibrant Spinach
• Tender Pole Beans (so many of them!)
• Sweet, juicy Blueberries
• Two beautiful types of Cucumbers — the classic long ones and those unique pickling varieties.

Everything grown from seed with love, no chemicals, just sunshine, soil, and patience. The kitchen is about to get very busy with salads, sautéed greens, fresh snacking, and maybe some pickles! 🥒

When your beautiful Ferrier brings her beautiful children. Apparently I have discovered the perfect way to babysit a 6-year-old boy during farrier day…

You hand him a miniature donkey named Han Solo and call him the “Assistant Ass Babysitter.” 🤠🫏

Meanwhile:
• Leia treated the whole appointment like a spa day.
• Rey Skywalker decided Ass Grandma’s lap looked like a safe place to stay away from her pedicure.
• This was the opportune time for Rey to hit the all-you-can-drink milk buffet while Leia was being done.
• I learned getting stepped on by a Grand-donkey hurts exactly the same the second time she steps on the same toe.
• Pey turned into a professional photographer today and captured “The Ass Manicurist” in action. 💅🫏
• Ro handled donkey daycare like he was born for the job.

Honestly, this farm runs on coffee, chaos, and tiny donkeys with absolutely no respect for personal space.

Farrier day summary:
✔ Toes trimmed
✔ Only mildly trampled
✔ Everyone survived
✔ Rey still believes every human exists solely for snack service
✔ Hug and love your farriers!

Well… I was only going to “taste test” one slice of this Chocolate Blueberry Chip Sourdough Bread… and somehow that first slice mysteriously disappeared. Farm math says that means it is good. 🍞🫐🍫

This loaf is packed with fresh organic blueberries straight from the farm and REAL cocoa bean chocolate chips — not those waxy imposters hiding in grocery store bags. The rich dark color comes from deep cocoa throughout the sourdough itself, giving it a bold chocolate flavor without being overly sweet.

Now I need your opinion for this Saturday at Market At The Rail from 9 AM–2 PM:

Should I:
🍫 Slice it and drizzle it with dark chocolate?
🍯 Or finish it with a sweet honey icing?

Just harvested a bunch of my organic yellow crooked squash — only 12 pounds so far but the honeybees are out here putting in OVERTIME pollinating! Looks like canning season is calling my name 😅

🎣🍞 BOYS, HOLD MY BEER – THAT’S A MONSTER DOUBLE LIMIT RIGHT HERE! 🍞🎣

Just came back from a brutal 48-hour ferment in the wilds of my kitchen counter, and I bagged me TWO absolute units with the legendary DoughBacca starter!

Look at these bad boys — each one tipping the scales at a solid 800 grams, stretching a full 10 inches of pure crusty glory. Firm, golden, with ears so sharp they could fillet a trout. I fought the hydration, I wrestled that autolyse, and I damn near lost a finger to the scoring lance… but it was worth every second.

My hands still smell like victory and sourdough. The husband thinks I’m crazy. The asses are calling me “Bread Mommy.” I’m just out here living the dream, boys.
