📣Sound ON! Ursa is on the night shift these days keeping watch over our youngest members of the flock so that mamas can get the food and rest that they need.

Our new Everyday Dorset Yarns are FINALLY up on our website! They come in two weights: fi*****ng and worsted. Have you knit with Dorset yarn before? So bouncy and squishy. Dolly, our one black sheep, lambed yesterday! We are thrilled that the cute little black and white lamb she had is a ewe lamb.

If your kids attended our camp in 2025 they will know Dolly, so please share with them, too!

Fall lambing has begun! On Saturday two of our ewes had singles. They chose to have their babies deep in the tall plants, hidden away from predators and everyone else. In fact, the rest of the sheep herd did not know that any new lambs had arrived yet for a couple hours!

While I was tagging the lambs and recording their births, the rest of the sheep finally realized there were new lambs in the group. They all came running over to meet the lambs and see what I was doing.

We are expanding our farm social media presence so we can share MORE of our fiber farm content.

A fiber farm was the foundation of Henny Penny Farm and still something so important to our identity. We believe in wool as a beautiful, sustainable, environmentally-responsible product. We believe in the beauty of single breed yarns. And we believe in continuing to be a significant part of our regional fiber system.

And to continue to do this we need to be able to share more about what is happening in our fiber world (along with snippets of soap and candle-making!).

So…we have created a new social media account on Instagram and Facebook focused just on these areas. We would love you (and all of your friends!) to follow us and as a thank you, your name will be entered to win one of these fresh-from-the-mill 100% Dorset wool hats. Many of our customers have enjoyed our Romney-Mohair hats for years. Dorset is a very different wool (that we will tell you more about in a future post!).

To be entered in our giveaway:
1. Follow Henny Penny Fiber Farm
2. Comment and tell us what interests you most about our woolen world (for example yarns, breeds, the story of the products, etc)
3. Tag a friend to be entered again
4. Follow us (and tag friends) on Facebook to be entered even again
5. Each tag and follow counts as 1 entry.

The lucky recipient will be notified on Friday Sept 25 at 5pm and they can pick the color of their choice. Hat can be mailed or picked up in person.

We’ll be bringing our hand made soaps to Vermont Sheep & Wool Festival, including our ever-popular lavender oatmeal soap, Love Ewe Soap, and lots more!

Henny Penny Farm soaps are handcrafted in small batches. And they are made, as always, with milk from our Nubian dairy goats.

Goats produce milk that is an incredible powerhouse of nutrients for our skin. It is loaded with vitamins, unsaturated fatty acids, and other nutrients to rejuvenate and nourished dehydrated skin. It’s also filled with alpha hydroxy acids to remove dead skin cells and delay aging.

Stop by the Henny Penny Farm booth to learn more about the art of soap making and the benefits of goat milk soap.
