The lights are on and Olowalu General Store is OPEN today! ⚡️❤️

After a couple days in the dark, we’re so happy to be back and see everybody again.

Just a little heads-up: We won’t have all of our usual food and items available right away. It’ll take us a little time to replace everything we had to throw away.

Olowalu General Store will be CLOSED today, Monday, September 28, due to the continued power outage.

Mahalo plenty for checking on us. ❤️ We’re okay and hoping the power comes back soon.

We’re still hoping one day soon this becomes a reality.

The proposed site is just around the bend from where these Maui Fire Department trucks were parked today.

Hopefully, it could also include an EMS/paramedic crew serving Olowalu and our surrounding communities. 🙏🏼

Seeing these trucks here today reminded me that we haven’t heard anything new about the proposed Olowalu fire station in a while.

Mayor Bissen… can you help us with this, please? 🙏🏼 Mahalo plenty. ❤️

We happened to be there when one of the guys was coming in to relieve some of the guys who had been working through the night.

It made me think about how long these crews have been out there. Some working through the night, others coming in to keep the work going.

We may not see everything that happens behind the scenes, but we sure are thankful for it. 🙏🏼❤️

To everyone who put in the long hours helping Olowalu, MAHALO. We appreciate you more than you know. 🤙🏼

Meet Casey, Justin and crew, some of the dozer operators who worked through the night cutting fire lines.

That fire moved FAST, and these guys stayed out there through the night doing the work that needed to be done.

I really don’t know what else to say except thank you. 🙏🏼

We were hoping to open today, but unfortunately the power is still out, so Olowalu General Store will be CLOSED today, Sunday, September 27. 😔

We also want to give a big mahalo to all of the firefighters, volunteers and emergency workers who worked so hard yesterday and are still out there helping with the Olowalu fire today. ❤️🙏🏼

The road is still closed. Traffic is backed up and at a standstill.

Our store is okay, but we are closed. We were given an evacuation order and left the area.

At the time of this video, the road was closed in both directions.

It was very windy, and we could see the smoke getting thicker. We also saw helicopters carrying water buckets going back and forth.

According to the MEMA alert, the County has set up temporary shelters in Lahaina for those who need a safe place to go. Please continue to follow MEMA and County of Maui alerts for the latest information.

Thank you to everybody calling and messaging us. We are okay. ❤️ I won’t lie, the wind and fire brought back some anxiety for Auntie.

We got the call and headed out immediately, but the road had just been closed and we only got as far as the stream by Lone Pine.

Mahalo to all the firefighters, emergency responders and everyone working out there. ❤️🙏🏼

While I was filming Jaeden, Debra was standing in line making comments and laughing the whole time. 🤣 I was laughing so much I finally had to turn the camera on her too! 😂🤙🏼

Debra is visiting from the Rainier Beach area in Washington, and I’m so glad she decided to come in. She was so much fun! Nice to meet you, Debra! 🥰
