After a lot of thought and some very difficult circumstances, we have made the decision to close What the Duck BBQ & Grill.
Over the past few months, I’ve gone through a series of surgeries and have been working through my own recovery. Now, our family has been hit with something much bigger. Shelly recently became very sick with West Nile virus, meningoencephalitis, and suffered a stroke. She has a long road of recovery ahead of her, and right now she needs me and our family by her side.
Because of everything we have been through, we know it is time for us to step away from the restaurant and focus on what matters most — our health, our family, and Shelly’s recovery.
What the Duck has been so much more than a restaurant to us. We have poured our hearts into the food, the people, and this community. Every person who walked through our doors, ordered a meal, shared one of our posts, recommended us to somebody, or simply stopped in to visit became part of our story.
We cannot thank all of you enough for the love and support you have shown us along the way.
This is not goodbye, but sometimes life reminds you that you have to put everything else down and take care of the people you love.
For now, What the Duck BBQ & Grill will be closing its doors as we step back and take care of our health and our family.
Please keep Shelly in your thoughts and prayers as she continues her recovery. We have a long road ahead of us, but we’re going to take it one day at a time, together. ❤️
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting What the Duck. 🦆❤️
