I’ve been taking a break from my page since I have restrictions until September 😅🥲 BUT I’ve received ZERO notifications and I just had to dig though everythinggg and get back to everyone…. I just thought my reach and engagement was down to nothing because of the restrictions so if you see this HEY! 😅👋🏻

About shipping! Most of my girls are in a molt but Incase you’re wonderingggg me personally I’m not too comfortable shipping with ice packs. I’ve never done it before and I’m scared of premature development in transit with these temperatures or something going wrong. I want everyone to have a good hatching experience from me so I’d prefer to wait but ultimately I’ll leave the choice up to you with that disclaimer.

I never get to see any of the chicken drama on my feed.. like ever.
Until these last 24 hours… It is ALL over and I didn’t realize how bad it is! It’s been so peaceful over here in my little bubble and the algorithm got me somehow.

I will say one thing for certain is y’all don’t cuss good. Y’all cuss real bad. Got me on the other side of this screen LAUGHING when y’all are so serious 🤣🫣

Y’all we are old. TOO old for the mess. I don’t know what happened to my algorithm but if you share cute animal pictures, instagram worthy goodness, and Grammys recipes PLEASE COME BACK I MISS YOU 🥹🫶🏻

One question I get asked a lot: “What do you do with your extra Roosters?”

NOBODY likes my answer 😅

Everyone that post their roosters for free TRULY are missing out. You raise them with love and know exactly what they’ve eaten. I absolutely love my cull boys roaming around keeping up with the snake population.

The truth is everyone ends up with cull birds that they wouldn’t breed with or don’t have the space to keep. I’ve had a handful that I wouldn’t even sell as breeder boys because I would feel bad. It be like that sometimes 🤣

If you’ve talked with me you know I love Roosters. All of them. If I could have a pasture full of Rooster dudes I would BUT until I can they feed my family ♥️

This is the part of the year where I pull birds and put them in their conditioning pens to get them ready for their shows a few months from now.

They are starting to molt and I want to keep their pretty new feathers in perfect condition. I’ve never forced a molt for new feather growth before a show I try to cross my fingers and catch it naturally 🤞🏻

I think most people start 6-8 weeks before their shows but we start a little earlier. It teaches my kids about selection and making the right choices comparing our birds to the SOP and gives us time to make changes as the birds finish out.

It teaches them that handling everyday is important so they are calmer being held for a judge, cage training so they aren’t anxious but comfortable in their cages instead, and making sure their nutritional needs are met for their new feather growth and they get spoiled with snacks and come to the door when you open their cages 🤣

When do you start prepping your birds for shows? What are some must in your routine? Do you ever force a molt before a show? No judgement just curious. I’m too scared to try it 🫣
