Happy Earth Day! After a quiet winter, spring starts fast at the tree farm. In the past couple weeks we’ve been busy grinding stumps, transplanting trees, prepping fields for planting, planting, mulching, and cover cropping.
The late winter snow and rain added some excellent moisture to the soil and the trees are off to a great start. Hope you’re all having a great spring too!

Merry Christmas! Thank you to our customers, staff, and friends that helped make a successful and memorable 2025 season.

One of the key themes of the year was the weather! It was a wide range of sunny and warm to snowy and frigid. No matter when you came, thank you for sharing the start of your Christmas season with us. It’s a blessing to see you return each year!

A special memory was a busy-day phone call from a prior customer who had recently moved out of the area. They went to a new tree farm in their area this year but called to ask if we still had openings. “The new farm was great, but it wasn’t like Krueger’s. We’re willing to make the drive over. What you guys have there is really something special.” We work hard to grow and run the farm, but it’s the community of customers and supporters like you that make the farm a special place to experience.

Happy Thanksgiving! Many thanks to all of our customers and staff! You all help make the farm go-round and we are so grateful for your support.

Here is the 2025 ornament design! The chair lift is one of our newer photo spots but has quickly become a favorite (after the gondola, of course!). The gondola is from Lutsen and the chair lift is from Afton Alps. Annualized ornaments are included with your tree purchase. ☺️

Hello! It still feels like summer weather but the tree season is a few weeks away! Here are a few updates from the farm, including tree reservations.

In August, we enjoyed seeing many neighbors and friends at Lake Elmo’s National Night Out and the LE Centennial Celebration! Our family was an original Lake Elmo community member over 100 years ago and hopes to continue supporting this vibrant community into the next 100 years.

In September, we’ve been busy prepping the fields for the upcoming selling season! Lots of mowing, shearing, and tree tagging in this beautiful weather.

We love keeping our farm an enjoyable and relaxing experience for our guests. Tree reservations have helped maintain the cozy, family-friendly atmosphere and will be required for both pre-cut and cut-your-own trees. The reservation system will open on Wednesday, October 22nd! It’s been a busy spring and summer at the farm so here are a few updates!

In April, we spent most of the month clearing fields, planting seedlings, and mulching wood chips around each tree.

In May, we finished mulching and milled several logs we had cut from the woods throughout the winter. The lumber will be used for future projects around the farm.

In June, our summer crew started. They’ve been working hard at keeping the grass and weeds mowed around the trees.

This month we’ve been busy shearing trees. Each year we shape every tree so they have a balanced shape. We also recently attended and entered a tree at the National Christmas tree convention in Michigan. We didn’t win the contest but learned and networked with hundreds of the top growers and tree experts from across the US.

And come see our trees and many others next month at the MN State Fair tree contest in the horticultural building. You can even vote for your favorite tree in the People’s Choice award category!

We’ll give a State Fair and 2025 pre-season update in September. Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer! 😎🌲

Thank you all for making the 2024 season, our 70th year, a successful and memorable year! From the first customers before Thanksgiving to the last few on Christmas Eve, you all brought so much energy and Christmas spirit throughout the season. We are really blessed to have your support!
