We opened this 2008 Cabernet Franc last night to pair with grilled, herbed lamb chops for my birthday. It was exquisite! At over 10 years old, the wine was still fairly bright and youthful. At first pour, the tannins were surprisingly tight, then a nice hint of French oak on the finish. This wine can live another 10 years.

Thanks to all who have texted, posted, messaged about drinking one of their last Circa bottles during the holidays. We tried this one tonight and found it , after 10 years, to be exquisite. Love you all.... Happy New Year!

Here are a couple of interesting old Michigan labels. Note the KBC(Bell's) was purchased at the Village Wine Shop (now again the Blue Goat) and the side label of the Mawby (still wine) says that 55% came from the Ruth vineyards in Oceana county which were pulled out in the mid 1990's.

We have news: we have been carefully researching (and tasting!) grape varietals and wines from unique European microclimates. We have identified a couple varietals that are extraordinarily well suited to our Leelanau soils and seasons.
Just recently, we finalized an agreement to have these varietals custom propagated for our planting here in Leelanau county.
These wines will of course, not be produced under the Circa banner, but will be crafted in the same  spirit of qualiy and local authenticity that you previously enjoyed at Circa.
We are very excited about this new wine venture, and will continue to provide regular updates on this page until such time as our new social media is established.

We are happy to be the ones who get to break the news about Michigan's newest wine project, "Reveal."
Their inaugural wine offerings feature wines made by Margaret in the style you loved at Circa.
Reveal will offer "Improv," "Chardonnay," "Rosé" "Blaufrankisch," Mosaic," and a 100% Cabernet Franc icewine, "Finis."
