Hello, how are you ? We are good. The highline people have started preliminary work , hope all goes well. The weather is kind of stormy this afternoon, we could use an In. or so of rain. The beans look good, been looking for aphids and planing an aplication of foliar feeding on beans, be a first for me, hpoe it makes a differance. Hello again from the farm, i hope you are doing well. I started the second trip with the cultivator the other day then we had more rain. I think it will be to tall to go back into. It's been cloudy all day and is supose to rain tomorrow. The meat birds are going to the butcher friday. Our church synod convention started today, thats always agood three or four days. How are you today? Things aremoving along here, corn is up and responding to the warm weather even the later planting can be rowed . The beans are looking better then i thought they would, i bumped up the population this year i think i will do that again, we will see when i take population checks. Finished cultivating corn , slowed up some weeds namely giant rags, hope that buys me some time between sprayings. The new chicks are not chicks any more . The meat birds are growing like mad they have about 2 weeks to go, hope we don't lose any. The new layers are looking good. Hey Mr's B. thanks for the kind words about mom. Well i guess rain is at the top of the list in our area right now,it is important to remember GOD is in control and knows what is best. Hi, how are you today? I started physical therapy this week, i am not very flexible. We ordered new chicks , they will be here on Monday . We had more snow it is about gone and now we have mud. We are suppose to get thunder showers friday that will be good. You have agood day and GOD bless you.
How are you today? We are ok. I am getting sick of sitting around but i have to behave myself, i go back to the surgeon in ten days or so hope good news. The people with the new highline poles coming through were out mapping out the rout, they left colored stacks to mark the path, it looks like we will only have one in the middle of the field that's good. Last night it started snowing and it is continuing . The wind is blowing also, i don't know how the roads are. I am hopping to order chicks next month , some layers and meat birds. How are you today? I am doing ok. My surgery , well we will have to wait and see. It was not as painful as i thougth , but i had a nerve block and that worked well. I should have gone to the doc. sooner he said there was only one muscle or tendon left on my shoulder. Before the surgery he was telling me he wanted me to do some exercise at home but after he said not to do anything with it, instead of one anchor he put in 8, not a good thing. Hopfully it all works out and i behave. enough we have been getting snow the last few days the woods south of the house is beautiful with the wet snow sticking to the trees. Taxs are done and paid ,always good to have that done. Hope Marcia can get things going in her building soon. Happy New Year to you. I hope you are well. We had a good Christmas everyone was home and the weather was ok .this morning was a different story, our thermometer said 18 below and the wind is blowing out of the West. There is a good side when I blow the snow I shouldn't dig any dirt. It will be good to get back to a routine. Tomorrow Marcia goes back to work and I have to pay the elevator for inputs , seems like it gets to be more every year. I am trying some new things in 2018, I will talk more about that later. The packers took it on the chin yesterday, we couldn't see the game but it didn't sound very good , next year will be better. I hope you have a great New Year and may GOD bless you. Good morning. How are you doing today? We are a few days from Christmas and everything is speeding in that direction, to me that is good . Why you ask , well what is Christmas? It is the birth of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I like to go to the
Children Christmas program, Christmas services to hear the pastor's message . We used to go caroling but not so much anymore . Our family will be coming and that will be good . The last few days have been fairly calm but this morning the wind is blowing again. We have had warm days and some cold days but no major snow yet. The blower is on the 1086 and waiting. We have been working on the 706 changing the manifold set, the generator was easy to get to so I checked it out it is shot, I guess it is better to fix it now then when I need it. Hi how are you today? We are in corn harvest . Things have gone well. We finished the north 40 and today I will start the small field by the house. It is in the mid 20s and we had a flurry of snow, you won't make tracks in the mud tis morning . There is a opossum in the barn, hope it comes out , I may have to use a live trap. There are holes all over the bean stuble, around 15 new digings, thinking fox, I setup a live trap but nothing so far. Well I better get going, got to get a grain check and pay some bills. Friday I started driving a tender truck for the fertilizer supplier , that was a new experience , I had to remember my job was to keep the spreader going and to bring lots of reading material, it was fun. Friday night & Saturday morning we had more rain so on work Saturday. I had Saturday breakfast with my two boys they help me in the fall, we will start corn combining in a couple weeks. I think we have had in the range of 10 in. of rain in the last month . We are still mowing lawn. We have been trying to combine beans , got started and then it rained some more. GOD knows best. That's a good thing becase I would mess it up. It is clearing up and should be nice this week. Had some corn tested it was 24% moisture,need that to be around 15 to 16%. I will talk again. Hi everyone. Well we made it through another sorghum day with out sorghum, survival is a good thing. I had a blast I always do.
We had a great dinner made some apple sauce and went on a hay ride, someone brought out an icecream mechine it was gooooood! The kids got to play and the old people sat and talked about the old days. It was good to see everybody and I missed the ones that didn't make it.
It has been a rainy day, I dumped a half in. out of rain gaug today. Our beans should be ready when it drys up,just afew leaves left on the bottom. The corn ears are starting to drop and they are standing good.The equipment is pretty ready. Well I have to feed the chickens and the cat, you have a great evening and GOD bless you.
Good morning to you. When I look out to the east I see a small slit in the clouds and the sun showing through . We had more rain last night , this is feeding the crops. What a wonderful blessing from our creator and sustainer. Saw a deer walking by the sweet corn , they got most of it this year. The red IH truck is home and is running good , the test will be this fall. In the years I have farmed I have bought a lot of old equipment and have been able to make it work at lest for awhile but this year I believe I told you about a corn head I bought , Well I started getting it ready and the more I looked and the more I did the worse it got until I said no more. This is going to be a money pit. There are some good parts I can use on my 4 row and I will keep looking but do a better job inspecting. I hope to get one more load of gravel soon . Well I have to let the hens out and make breakfast . GOD bless you and have a great day.

Hi there. It's a nice cool evening with a little breeze. Since we talked last we have eaten sweet corn planted another apple tree (kinder crisp) and cleaned up south of the barn. The sorghum cooker is gone along with some junk and is replaced with some grass. the 1086 is in the shop getting the hitch fixed.
The old red truck is at anotherf shop, I drove it the other day I don't think it has ever run that good, we will see when we put 600 bushels of corn on it. I have been cleaning the mice out of the combine , it was bad, put a new interior in it, it is nicer to sit in there should be quitter. We painted inside Marcia building our granddaughter Paige came an helped. Thanks Paige. I went to the holt reunion it was fun seeing my cousins an aunt Loraine. I had a blast. The elevator sprayedthe beans the other day I hope it slows down the weeds, other then that they look fair. Well it is time to lock up the chickens . Hi, how are you today? The old maple is pretty much gone, all that is left is the trunk, that will be gone when the tree guy repairs his saw. Then he will grind up the sumps. We have had some wet weather in June but it has been dry the last week or two, sunny and windy. I was out checking population in the bean field yesterday there was still moisture there. It averaged 83,333 plants/ acre, we will see how that is this fall, ho I found a few blossoms and it looks like good weed control so far. The corn is looking good , it is about head high and is soon ready to tassel . The sweet corn has tasseled and set ears, should be some good eating soon. Next week the old red truck gets worked on. Hello, how are you? Things have been busy here, I have cutting trees north of the house. There is going to be a guy coming to cut down some trees to close to buildings and then grind out the stomps . Going to mess that old maple on the south west corner of house, there is a lot of good shade. I have to tell you about a week ago we were invaded by raccoons , they killed 10 to 15 chickens ate eggs and tore up things in barn. Got three and a skunk. The skunk sure stunk up the yard. It has been hot and dry so far our corn and beans look good we could swallow up an inch of rain and be back in the field the next day. The markets have been going up, to bad it has to be because of someone elses bad weather on their crops. Our Worth county fair is starting next week, I hope to is some judging of the hogs and goats. Hi how are you? Good I hope. Since we talked last time the corn is in the ground and has sprouted. Waiting on the elevator to spray the burn down chemical then the beans will go in. It has been raining on and off all day now I see the sun shining. Brought home our new mower today Marcia is looking foreward to trying it out. I was at the I H dealer to day and picked up a new hydraulic line for the 706. When that is fixed I need to change the hydraulic filter and fluid . We have turkeys coming out of the woods, seen two hens and a tom. Happy Bday Helen, I hope it is good one.
