I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself as the co-founder of Epic Adventures.
I’m Ricky Santiago, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Certified Clinical Adventure Therapist, educator, and behavioral-health leader with more than 25 years of experience. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with adolescents, adults, families, and professionals in residential, outpatient, community-based, and substance-use treatment settings. I’ve also served in clinical leadership roles and have taught at Palm Beach Atlantic University for more than two decades.
My passion for adventure therapy began in 2013 and grew from seeing how powerful change can be when people step outside the traditional therapy room. Experiential activities, time in nature, team challenges, and thoughtfully designed adventures can help people build trust, improve communication, develop resilience, strengthen relationships, and discover capabilities they may not have recognized in themselves.
At Epic Adventures, we bring together clinical knowledge, leadership development, and experiential learning to create meaningful programs for treatment centers, clinicians, organizations, and corporate teams. Our services include adventure therapy consultation and training, team-building experiences, and other nature-based programs.
I believe growth often begins when we are invited to move beyond what is familiar—not recklessly, but with purpose, support, and a willingness to learn.
I’m proud of what we’ve built and excited to share more about our work, our approach, and the people and organizations we serve.
