Bison are going in for processing to Heart O Lakes Meats in Pelican Rapids on Friday April 25th. There are 3 quarters available, price is $4.50/lb hanging weight and the buyer is responsible for the processing charges which is approximately $1.15/lb. My guess is each quarter will weigh around 185 pounds, so you can get a USDA inspected quarter, cut & vacuum sealed to your specifications for around $1,045. These animals are tame, spoiled, and have been fed like kings so the meat is sure to be tender, flavorful, and juicy! Now taking orders for whole & half hogs. These are all natural hogs raised on bedding with outdoor access. No antibiotics or growth hormones have ever been given. You will not find better pork at a better price anywhere! I have December & January processing dates at Heart O Lakes Meats in Pelican Rapids. Price is $2.49/lb hanging weight, which includes the hog and the processing charges. Average hanging weight for a whole hog will be between 200 and 240 pounds. My beef is fed corn their whole life, not just the last 90 days or so and it's very apparent in the marbling and the flavor!
