Exciting Announcement!!!!

We have been on the lookout for a Purebred Gelbvieh Bull for several years now, that we believe cannot only move our herd forward, but can also move the Gelbvieh breed forward.

With extreme excitement, we are thrilled to announce that BNH Dream Come True has made his new home at Hojer Ranch! We have not been this excited about a Herd Sire since we purchased Astro nearly 20 years ago!!

We want to thank Brad and Nicole for not only producing such a supreme Bull, but also for allowing us an opportunity to bring DCT stateside and make an immediate impact on the breed!

It’s so great to be a part of the cattle community!!

The outpouring of support has been absolutely overwhelming! We currently have 12 trucks ready to load and head to Nebraska to assist our fellow cattlemen that are in need of some relief! It never ceases to amaze us the generosity of the people of Kingsbury County and surrounding communities!

The convoy will depart from Lake Preston at 8:30 am Wednesday, April 1. It will be traveling through DeSmet around 8:45, and Iroquois around 9:00. Please take a few minutes out of your morning to line Highway 14 and show your support for this absolutely tremendous act of kindness!!

Today we had the privilege of hosting the District FFA CDE Livestock Judging Contest. With 15 schools represented, it was a perfect late March day! Yes, Hojer Ranch got to dabble in the sheep, swine, and even goat business for at least a few hours! Thank you to the Arlington School District for the opportunity to host such a great event!

Now that the dust has started to settle, and we have had some time to reflect on the past week, we want to sincerely thank all of our great friends and partners who supported us this past Monday! We are truly blessed and humbled by the confidence you all place on our Hojer Ranch Program. Words could never describe how thankful we are!

"At a market price of $4.50 per pound on five-weight steers with a 22.7 pound weaning weight advantage, the Gelbvieh influence would equate to an additional $102.15 revenue per head. On a group of 100 steers, Gelbvieh-influenced females would generate $10,215 in additional calf crop revenue. Gelbvieh-influenced cowherds generate more pay weight, which is more profit for the producer. Gelbvieh genetics grow more than just weaning weights; they grow your profitability."

****2026 TWIN TRACKER!!!*****. We are currently up to 12 sets of twins this year. Running a 10% twin rate similar to last year. Our last two sets however have been rare. We’ve had back to back sets with one red and one black calf. One set out of a red heifer and one set out of a black cow. All twin things considered, that’s pretty neat!
