While we typically stay low key about our contributions to our community, we also want our followers to know that they are following a community based homestead. Today we donated 12 dozen of our hen's eggs to the local food pantry with a prayer that our contribution, as a tithe, helps nourish those in need. This isn't something new, nor will it be the last time - we just want you to know that by supporting our little local homestead, you are supporting a community too. ❤️ Thank you!

We've been busy prepping our wedding here on our little homestead, but the work was worth it, & the day was perfect! Thank you for your support & understanding about orders being on hold. I officially am leaving my full time job to dedicate more time to my marriage, our homestead, & God's plan. So we are looking foward to a season of growth in simplicity, Stewardship, & the honest work of homesteading.

Not a giant harvest today, but, still greatful for it all. My Jalapbeleño are doing good, I must have cross pollinated bell pepper & Jalapeño seed.... they are delicious, however. My regular Jalapeños are spitting out their last few as the days get shorter & weather cools. I was surprised I didnt have more ripe Habanero, bc there were a ton of peppers on the plant! But half were eaten! I found the sneaky big green fat tomato worm eating them, and my chickens got a nice treat of a spicy worm & all of its half eaten peppers! There are still about a dozen Habanero peppers that need to ripen up, so I'm praying the weather supports it! I'll still get tomatoes until the 1st heavy frost - but I left the biggest ones on the vine today bc they will fall & reseed for next year!

Another bountiful harvest today!
I found some cucumbers that were secretly hiding in my tomato vines! They are absolutely ridiculously big, & a little past prime ripeness. While they would not be good on a salad, the extra sturdiness is perfect to hold up durring the canning process of making relish! Any parts too tough for my liking will be happily accepted as a snack by my chickens - no waste! Thank you God for these provisions, we ask your blessing over them so they may nourish our bodies. It was a gorgeous day yesterday in Lake Village! Spent the whole day at the Local Market and I am just so greatful for all of the wonderful people I was able to meet, the other vendors, & our community! In one event, there was support for Veterans, 1st responders, our local food pantry, & HS sports. There was fund raising for continued tornado relief & the local Ham radio group that supported our 1st responders when towers were down after the tornado (they also just raised $$ for a new sign for our community center). I am very proud to be a part of this community of neighbors helping neighbors. I also sold out of our ever popular Serb Herb & had a great day in sales overall! I want to thank Berta for her hard work of organizing the events & Side Bean Coffee Roasters for always supporting our efforts. Thank you Tammy & Brenda for being such great friends & stopping by to visit! And a huge THANK YOU to my son, Cody for helping around the house while I was away & to my husband, Tim, who ensured I had everything I needed (including lunch) help me set up/tear down & let me do my thing without worry about the mundane details. I say it all the time & it never gets old, I am truly living a blessed life. God is good.
