The level of toxins, impurities VOCs, PFOA’s PFAS (forever chemicals) and many other “unknowns” are impossible for the utilities to remove for safe water  consumption.
Purifying your water at the point of entry will assure proper filtration at every tap in your home. Reverse osmosis at your kitchen sink and to the refrigerator will give you 99.9% purified water. Ultraviolet disinfection is another great layer of protection. We highly recommend. 
It’s not a luxury it is a necessity.
If you can’t drink it, don’t 🚿 shower in it.
