BLACK BEAN & SWEET POTATO - This week, we steamed up some delicious black bean and sweet potato tamales! The smell and steam lit up the kitchen with the wonderful juxtaposition of flavors! TETELAS CON FRIJOLES Y QUESO - Tetelas with black beans and cheese. We kicked up our black bean puree with red chili and chipotle! Super flavorful! The spiciness of the beans combined with the creaminess of the cheese pair so well with the hearty and earthy heirloom corn masa. Simply A-maize-ing! ❤️

FELIZ DIA DE LOS MU***OS, PART 2! Besides our Mole Negro Jackfruit tamales, we also made some HATCH RED CHILI AND CHEESE TAMALES! We used some mild/sweet Hatch red chilis as the base. Not too much heat, but heaps of flavor! We paired the chili sauce with some sharp cheddar for a wonderful juxtaposition of savory taste! Though, admittedly, the cheese blends into the infused masa. All in all, it's a wonderful treat! Much love! ❤️

¡FELIZ DIA DE LOS MU***OS! Happy Day of the Dead! One of our weekly specials - MOLE NEGRO JACKFRUIT TAMALES! A vegan delight made with young jackfruit, heirloom white corn masa and even some organic cacao from Ora Cacao as the base of the Mole. Thick and rich, a perfect companion for a chilly fall day. The pickled onions are a tad more acidic to help cut the richness of the Mole. A delight to the palate! Have a wonderful week! Much love! ❤️

HELLO FRIENDS! We won't be delivering our meal boxes this week as we will be preparing our Dia de Los Mu***os Mealboxes for next week. We thought we would share a picture of El Jefe's favorite tamale restaurant from his childhood. The Tamale House in Arroyo Grande, California. ¡EMPANADAS! This week, we served up more empanadas in our weekly meal boxes! Argentina plays New Zealand this week in the semi-finals of the Rugby World Cup! We wanted to show our support by making more empanadas! This week our selections were both vegan.

VEGAN CHILE COLORADO - we whipped up our house made red chili sauce that we sourced from Socorro red chilis. Combined it with some vegan "beef" and stuffed it inside our basic dough. It has a bit of kick with so much flavor!

CHICKPEAS AND SWEET CORN - A simple but savory filling. Roasted chickpeas, sweet corn, onions, and wild mountain cumin! There is no heat but so much flavor it kicks you in the taste buds. We included some extra red chili sauce if you wanted to spice it up. Purely delicious!

CONGRATULATIONS TO LOS PUMAS! The Argentine rugby team scored an impressive victory over Wales and advanced to the semi-finals in the Rugby World Cup. This week, we baked up a trio of delicious empanadas in support of Argentina 🇦🇷. These aren't traditional flavors but quite tasty!

VEGAN CHICK'N with green chili, sweet corn in a coconut cream sauce. So tasty and giving off a Caribbean or curry vibe, wrapped inside a pineapple infused bread dough.

MUSHROOM AND ONIONS in a red chili sauce, bumped up with red chili and red chili flakes stuffed into a slightly sweet flaky pastry dough.

JALAPEÑO PINEAPPLE real pineapple seasoned with cloves, cloud forest cardamom, and our housemade candied jalapeño syrup! It's not hot but with plenty of flavor. (Not pictured.)
