I’ve always admired people who could paint, but I never imagined I’d be the one picking up a brush.

This is my newest acrylic painting on an 18” × 24” canvas. It’s far from perfect, but every painting teaches me something new, and I’m enjoying the process more than I ever expected.

Creating has become such a peaceful way to slow down and reflect, and I’m excited to keep learning and see where this journey takes me.

Lately I’ve been trying something a little different.

Between the garden, the homestead, work, and family life, I realized I’d forgotten how good it feels to create something just for the joy of creating. So I picked up a paintbrush and gave acrylic painting a try.

It’s definitely outside my comfort zone, and I’m learning as I go, but there’s something peaceful about slowing down, putting on some music, and letting creativity take over for a while.

I’m not trying to be perfect—just making time for new hobbies and enjoying the process. I think we all need a reminder that it’s never too late to learn something new.
