A few days ago we saw a Facebook post out of Saint Augustine, Florida that an HOA was going to have a bunch of ducks and geese in their ponds euthanized so I wrote the HOA an email and called them and we drove three hours yesterday to start saving these ducks and geese from being killed😔 the drive home was hilarious. I was singing every song I could think of to them as they set in the back watching out the front window, honking and Quacking all the way home! And we're not going to talk about the smell in the back of the van! Luckily, I had a tarp down. I am so thrilled to get these little guys to safety and give them a new home at Safari Wilderness in our aviary free from predators and able to live out their best lives.. not to mention the fact that my African goose named "Goosey Goo" was thrilled, to add more ladies to his flock! The honking in the aviary last night with them all introducing themselves was the sweetest funniest thing to see ! Geese are incredibly intelligent and get very attached to the people that care for them. Welcome home Matilda, Mary, Gracie, Mrs Peepers, and Quackers! We love you!!

Every life is precious no matter how small🥰 This little lemur was born at our sister ranch Giraffe Ranch in Dade City and we knew from the beginning something was not quite right with him, he didn't hang on to mom very well and acted kind of like what a horse breeder would call a "Dummy foal" didn't want to nurse and had neurological problems. We never pull baby animals unless we absolutely have to, but this time we did because when baby lemurs have issues like this one mom normally abandons them. The decision was made and a kind hearted lady named Susan who is a dear friend of ours (and also has a zoo) came and picked him up took him to the vet and the diagnosis didn't look good so she made the decision to give him the best life possible with the time he might have left...well it turns out God had other plans and against all odds he is doing better and better each day and we now think he might make it!! The moral of this story is never give up!!! Susan didn't! She poured all her love into this tiny soul who wasn't expected to last more than a couple days! He's not completely out of the woods yet but we think attitude and faith is everything!!

Gorgeous evening at Safari Wilderness!! Did you know 90% of the animals in our petting zoo are all RESCUES😇 also all of the Safari Wilderness cats that greet you at our Welcome barn too! Most came from Polk County Sheriff's animal control and were deemed unadoptable. We do accept fresh produce donations and cat food donations if anyone is interested😇 He who saves one...Saves the world entire!

Did you know that no two zebra have the same stripes? They are like fingerprints. But we can tell our zebra apart all 34 of them!!! This is one of the few places where you can see multiple herds of breeding zebra. Each stallion has 5 mares in his herd and because our ranch is so spacious, they all get along.
