Big Creek Farms - Lakeland, GA Spreading joy through animals! 💕 Big Creek Farms is located in South Georgia in the town of Lakeland.

We raise horses, cattle (registered Simangus and Longhorns), goats, donkeys, and more. Our animals are under the careful watch of Karlene Miller, Manager of Big Creek Farms.

After all this rain we’ve had, we had to mow some of the tall grass patches! Although it can be scary to “cut down so much forage”, this is actually extremely beneficial…

✔️Cutting mature, stemmy grass encourages new leafy growth that is more nutritious and palatable
✔️Keeps weeds from going to seed and spreading
✔️ Horses tend to avoid grazing around manure piles and will repeatedly graze their favorite areas

Don’t worry, our guys headed straight to grazing and thoroughly appreciated the new cuts!
