Last night we got to be a part of honoring Jim Kenny. Jim was a guy I met through Kory's car show friends. In fact, Jim's daughter, Patty Sweetland and her husband (then boyfriend), Dan, were some of his first friends I met. I can still remember driving to Lakeview to work the car show with Kory (at the time, aka "Mr. Lakeview") feeling as if I was going on an interview with the entire town. Anyway, they were kind and helpful and that was the beginning of many years of friendship. When I got a call asking if I could help celebrate Jim's life by providing the meal, I knew it would be our pleasure. In perfect tribute, after the visitation, Jim took one last cruise to the cemetery to be laid to rest next to his dear wife, Marion, whom he had greatly missed. I am sure their reunion was one of the best! From the cemetery, family and friends traveled to Eureka Township Hall in Greenville for our meal. It was our first time there. It's a nice venue with a kitchen area that worked well for our staging.
They were able to continue celebrating Jim as they enjoyed a fruit tray, honey dill carrots, green bean casserole, roasted potatoes, Alice Springs chicken (honey mustard, bacon, mushrooms, and cheddar), herbed whitefish, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, and brownie trifle.
