Today was another funeral luncheon. Rhonda Neitzel hired us to help honor her father, Bernie Smith. After the service, family and friends gathered at the VFW Lakeview #3701 for a meal consisting of tossed salad, buttered corn, calico baked beans, sloppy joes, and ham & scalloped potatoes. For dessert there were assorted cookies or fresh fruit. By our taking care of all the food including set-up, service during the event, and tearing down, everyone was able to focus on reminiscing, sharing memories, and supporting each other.

Today's event was the meal for the family and friends of Robert Bowers. They gathered to celebrate his life at Janowicz Funeral Home in Lakeview. They enjoyed a meal consisting of a veggie tray, fruit salad, buttered corn, calico baked beans, sloppy Joe's, ham & scalloped potatoes, and chocolate sheet cake. Oh, and of course, cookies!

Time again for the Montcalm Townships Board Association bi-monthly meeting. This month we were at the Road Commission location in Stanton. Tonight's menu included a tossed salad and a loaded, baked potato bar. There was pulled pork or chili, broccoli, liquid gold cheese sauce, bacon bits, sour cream, shredded cheese, and scallions. Dessert was cake: banana cake with peanut butter frosting and cinnamon zucchini cake with cream cheese frosting. See you in October!

Back again at the Black farm for the 5th year in a row! We were able to help John & Lisa with the annual seed customer appreciation dinner/informational meeting. We went with the standard menu: bbq pulled pork sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, and buttered green beans. Of course there was cake for dessert and the infamous homemade vanilla ice cream compliments of the Black family. Thank you!!!

Today's catering was a meal for family and friends saying goodbye to Beverly Rogers at her Celebration of Life service. Her daughter, Robin, contacted me a week ago saying she was coming from Missouri to "bring mom home" to Howard City. Doing almost all parts of this job virtually, we were able to provide bbq pulled pork sandwiches and ham & scalloped potatoes. To go alongside, there was also tossed salad, broccoli salad, baked beans, a fruit tray, chocolate sheet cake, lemon bars, and assorted cookies.

This was our first event at Grace Community Church. It's a wonderful venue and the staff are so nice!

Congratulations Sean & Kaylee Bridget! It was a beautiful day for a wedding especially at a new venue for us, Prairie Bells Barn in Belding, MI. We provided appetizers during the social hour between the wedding and dinner for 250 guests. There were meat and cheese trays with assorted crackers, huge veggie trays with the family's special dip, and two kinds of pinwheels: chicken bacon ranch and tomato basil. All went well.

On Saturday we were able to help Chris and Laurie Johnson celebrate the life of his mother, Janet. There was a huge crowd at the funeral and most stayed for dinner. We didn't get many pictures but you know the set-up. 😉 The pictures I wish I did get were of the special vegan/vegetarian/GF table we did. Special foods made to accommodate some guests included roasted vegetables, corn, cheesy potatoes, fruit tray, orange-glazed tofu, and peanut butter cookies. The rest of the guests had a fruit tray, confetti corn, roasted vegetables, cheesy potatoes, Italian smothered chicken, fruit & onion glazed pork, and assorted cookies (chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia nut, Rockstar, monster, peanut butter, and lemon).

Our second event this weekend was to provide a celebration dinner for Randy Bennett's Ordination and installation as the pastor at First Congregational Church in Stanton. Thanks to his wife, Dr. Jodi Bennett, for the business, and congratulations to him!

Their dinner buffet included tossed salad, grape salad, green bean casserole, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes and gravy, American smothered chicken, and fruit & onion pork loin. For dessert there was cheesecake (plain or with cherry topping) or brownie trifle.

Had a busy, but fun weekend! On Saturday, we catered a wedding in Blanchard for two of my former students! Congratulations, Luke and Autumn Burns. May you have a happily forever after! Thanks to her mom, Crystal Kindred, for hiring me.

Dinner included tossed salad, green bean casserole, garlic buttered pasta, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffed turkey breast, and American smothered chicken. For dessert there was carrot cake with cream cheese frosting or assorted cookies.
