The Lake County Food Share (LCFS) wishes to extend its sincerest appreciation to Lakeview's T-Net Broadband Internet. As a nonprofit, LCFS continues to receive T-Net’s generous provision of valuable support, free of charge, since installed July 2021.

“The internet is imperative for us to be part of several programs used at LCFS,” explained Ronne Lindsay, LCFS Chair. “We need it during food distributions and daily for the Fresh Alliance program. In addition, the internet allows us to complete and send all our monthly reporting and grant writing.”

"We strive to provide the best services possible to our local community businesses and individuals," co-owner Alex Reynolds stated.

Lake County Food Share is located at 247 North N Street in Lakeview, across from the grain silos.

This effort enables Lake County residents struggling with food insecurity to access necessary sustenance at the Lake County Food Share.

To receive food assistance, individuals must FIRST register with the Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank by calling (541)882-1223.

Much Needed Vehicle Donated to Lake County Food Share

Lakeview, OR — For some time now, the Lake County Food Share (LCFS) board explored options to obtain a much needed and dependable vehicle to make food-related trips. These trips were primarily done by pulling a trailer to and from Klamath Falls to pick up food at the Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank and bring it back to the LCFS in Lakeview for county-wide distribution.

“Until now, these trips were made by LCFS volunteers using their own private rigs,” said Mike Newcombe, LCFS Board Member. “Especially now during the winter months, a reliable and steady four-wheel drive vehicle was essential to drive in snow and ice while pulling a loaded trailer of food.”

LCFS Volunteer, Ed Henry, began to pursue acquisition of such a vehicle. As a result, he ultimately contacted the Lake County Board of Commissioners. After describing the situation to Commissioner James Williams, it was revealed Lake County had one such vehicle that met the criteria and was up for surplus.

Last December, the transfer of ownership was realized between the county and the LCFS. “The County was pleased to donate a steady, reliable and beneficial home for the slated-for-surplus vehicle,” remarked Commissioner James Williams. “We’re more than happy our local food share can put the pickup to further good use.”

For LCFS registration eligibility, applicants must first call the Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank at 541-882-1223. People who currently participate in the Food Stamp Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) qualify. Other criteria, such as overall income and number of people per household, are taken into account as well.

The LCFS is located at 247 North N Street in Lakeview. Food distribution is the first Thursday of each month from 4-5:30 p.m. and from 10:30-noon the following Thursday’s.

For more information, check out the LCFS page at “Lake County Food Share” or email [email protected]. In addition to Klamath-Lake Food Bank, individual food donations are much appreciated and accepted during distribution times, in Lakeview. Donations by check may be made out to and addressed to: Lake County Food Share, Post Office Box 1303, Lakeview, OR 97630.

Lake County Food Share Receives Ice Bowl Donation

Lakeview, OR — Lake County Food Share (LCFS) recently received valuable donations from the local disc golf club, Level 48.

At the February 7th Annual 2026 Ice Bowl, players threw their “discs in the ring” raising $1,450 and 312 pounds of food donated to the Lake County Food Share.

“The 2026 Ice Bowl involved 15 players,” said Tournament Director Jeremy Ringulet.
Since the club began, their nine-year donations total reached $9,668 and 2,674 pounds of food. “Not bad for a handful of Frisbee throwers.” The disc event is held at Lakeview Recreational Park (formerly the Soroptimist Park). Sponsors include the local Level 48 Disc Golf Club, Blarney Brothers and KORV 93.5 “The Goose” radio station to provide supplies, equipment and advertising.

“I’m always impressed with what we manage to put together in such a small community of disc golfers,” said Ringulet. “It makes me proud to be a part of it and makes the many hours of organizing and setting up the event worth it!”

Since 1987, Ice Bowls have become a celebration of community spirit, focusing on supporting food security initiatives across the United States. The collective impact of these tournaments grows, displaying the generosity and determination of disc golfers everywhere while making a difference and fostering a unique atmosphere where camaraderie and charity combine.

LCFS has been serving residents of Lake County for over 40 years. “It is because of community donations, such as this, that allow us to continue to provide food for those who need a little bit of help,” said Ronne Lindsey, LCFS Chair. “To us, it is PRICELESS!! It’s simply ‘People Helping People’ and this community proves that over and over again.”

For LCFS registration eligibility, applicants must first call the Klamath-Lake Counties Food Bank at 541-882-1223.

Distribution locations include:
• In Lakeview, the first Thursday of each month is from 4-5:30 p.m., and every Thursday thereafter from 10:30 a.m. to noon, located at 247 North N Street, 541-947-3222.
• Paisley Food Share, the first Monday of each month from 4-5 p.m., located at 1109 Cottonwood Road (the old library), 541-943-3551.
For more information, check out the LCFS page at “Lake County Food Share” or email [email protected]. Food donations are accepted during distribution times in Lakeview. Monetary (by check) donations may be mailed to: Lake County Food Share, Post Office Box 1303, Lakeview, OR 97630.

Disc golf is a flying disc sport where players throw discs at a metal basket target in as few throws as possible. It is like traditional golf, but with discs instead of balls and clubs. Players tee off from a designated tee pad. Each throw is made from where the previous one landed. The hole is completed when the disc lands in the basket. The lowest total throws (strokes) wins. Most courses have 9 or 18 holes. Unlike regular Frisbee, disc golf discs are smaller and more aerodynamic.

For more information on Lakeview Disc Golf and local Ice Bowls, contact Jeremy Ringulet at: [email protected]. To find out more about the national Ice Bowl Tournaments, search Ice Bowl Foundation.org.
